So I made post on gb a couple weeks back about a fox in my neighborhood having standoff with my cat ,today they spotted the fox chasing my cat and I want him eliminated or taken care of before he hurts my cat. How should I tackle this problem , by trying to bait him and trap or should I just call pest control ?

I'd keep the cat out of the fox's habitat. (i.e. keep it inside)

Look. It is completely unreasonable to remove or trap a Fox because of an issue with a domestic cat.

In the 18 years I've lived at this house, we never had a problem with foxes. Deer yes, possums and raccoons sure. But this fox has shown up in the past month and has been giving my cat hell. The cat has been in his share of fights with other resident pets and if he was in his prime I would have no quarrel, but he's on the downside of his life and don't want to come home one day to find him laying lifeless on the lawn

Your fox is probably relatively young and very curious. They are inquisitive by nature. Either shelter the cat or let things run their course.

You might have cougars in your neighborhood. So I found several vids of foxes eating kitty's but none were really relevant.

The only cougar I have in my neighborhood lives just down the street in the cul de sac who spends her days tanning by the pool and swiping her husbands credit card

Wild animals will do what wild animals do. If you don't want your cat to get eaten you probably shouldn't let it roam the neighborhood.

Seriously. The cat is outdoors and in the fox's space. If the cat killed a bird or mouse you would be ok with that.

Way to roll out the welcome mat fellas. Well, if he does decide to stay he'll be a keeper and we can all chuckle some day about his first post about the invasive fox.

Edited to add that the OP spends most of his time on the Politics board so either he does have thick skin or he's nuts. Time will tell which one.

I have cats, I love cats. But I also live in an area that foxes & coyotes & Hawks & owls live. Would I ever let one of my a-hole cats outside to live? Nope. Because they would get eaten. It is nature. So if you don't want it to get eaten make it an inside cat.
