There are grey foxes that practically live in downtown Dallas. They do fine in the suburbs.

I hope you realize I live in the suburbs of San Antonio not the damn countryside
you mean, the suburbs that have encroached on the damn countryside?

FERAL CATS ARE STILL INVASIVE SPECIES REGARDLESS.

maybe you should avoid the outdoors board since you are so obviously against the outdoors

Then you should probably look into leash laws in your area. They apply to cats as well.

Just to be fair, the suburbs of SA are some of the best fox areas in the state (4 legged variety). When I left the state, they were contemplating some coyote and fox research around NW SA.

What makes that good fox habitat? I assume it isn't the feral cat population.

pretty sure letting the fox eat the cat or bringing the cat inside was legit advice; you just didn't like it. It is the most logical advise, you just wanted some emotional PETA level crap on your side

get this man a pet baby gator, ball python, and pig while we are at it here

First you better get his mother & him an allergy panel or these 3 might be put outside too.

You know, we have foxes in our neighborhood, as well as coyotes. We have cats around too, and they seem to be fine. Unless there is no other prey around, then I don't think you have anything to worry about.

It's clear you don't really give a **** about the Cat either.

The cat since we found him as a stray has lived his life by sleeping inside at night, going outside during the day and making occasional trips inside to nap and or eat. I don't want him fully domesticated because then he can't hunt or protect himself

Must not be a very good outdoors cat, I have seen a barn Tom that would be social around humans and wouldn't bat an eye around a coyote. I watched him on several occasions stare down and chase coyotes, they only thought he was gunna be an easy meal. The size of that fox and the likely size of your cat, that is being taken care of by another family member (strange but ok) should equate to a pretty even fight. It might be touch and go for awhile on either side, but if your cats spent some time roaming free as it sounds I bet the fox wont mess with him more than once other than to see if he can steal some food.

Like I said before, I do not advocate relocating foxes. It is a feel good for people, and a slow death for the relocated animal. Some states actual view relocation as cruelty.....not kidding

Soooooo, it's cool if your cat follows his instincts and hunts smaller prey but not the fox?

I live in NW San Antonio. I mentioned on the last fox thread we have that a mother fox and two kits lived under my deck for several months one summer about 10 years ago.

doesn't want the cat domesticated b/c then it can't protect itself, but also clearly thinks the cat can't protect itself.
