True outdoor cats do annoyingly well with foxes/coyotes. Indoor/outdoor and indoor escapee cats ARE a favorite with foxes, even more so than with coyotes.

I promise I am not trying to sound like a jerk... but here it goes.
"Your" cat, and your is in quotes because if this cat has been roaming the neighborhood it has been more a nuisance than the fox has. It has been killing small lizards, song birds, it has been (if male) spraying everyone's homes, bushes, bbq pits, (if female) it has been wailing outside their windows. It hs been pooping in their yards, sand boxes, and vegetable gardens....
So here's my advise, keep "your" cat in your yard. Leave the fox alone. He is just doing what he is designed to do. The fox is more beneficial to the area environment than your cat has ever been.
If you are allergic to cats. Perhaps you should get a different pet next time.

Just like you lied to the fox when you put a cat in his territory but told him he couldn't eat it?azulAg said:

The cat since we found him as a stray has lived his life by sleeping inside at night, going outside during the day and making occasional trips inside to nap and or eat. I don't want him fully domesticated because then he can't hunt or protect himself
You should probably just crawl back to the politics board where they'll tell you your cat is special and has a right to live outside and kill every native bird it can get its paws on. I'm sure they agree that the native fox is vicious and shouldn't try to eat something lower than it on the food chain. It must be nice to feel entitled enough to let your animal run around without your neighbors complaining to you about it trespassing on their property every single day of its life and crapping all over their property, because who doesn't mind landmines in their flowerbeds and stuff smelling like cat piss.azulAg said:
