Amazed no thread about this. Launches this Thursday. Huge open world with a map around 2x as big as Skyrim's. Suppose to be optimized pretty well for consoles but naturally will look amazing on newer pcs.

Early reviewers are bombing it because its bosses are too hard or the puzzles require a double digit iq to solve lol

Played a few hours on PC. The game is beautiful and runs pretty well.
Gameplay wise its basically "**** you, figure it out". The controls are absolutely going to take a while to get used to.
The user interface for menus, settings, inventory, and gear is horrible though. I have no idea why quest items, all consumables, recipes, and loot share one stingy bag either. I know it's expandable and eventually they are adding a storage chest, but yeesh.
I dont mind the lack of hand holding though, and its a neat concept that you get more bag space and learn skills through quests, challenges, and just observing the goings on of the world than just grinding up.

got it late last night on xbox and only played a few minutes
The controls are what I'm most worried about. Anyone play it enough yet to say that the controls actually makes sense? I think I had to press RB+RT at the same time for something.

Its probably going to be better on KB and mouse in the long run because there are so many damn buttons and combos of buttons. It was way better to move the block and evade buttons from control and alt to my mouse thumb triggers, especially since the block button is the same as focusing on something.

I have no issues with jank or awkward movement in a game but they have I have heard the controls described in this game have holding off until they hopefully add in remapping or more traditional schemes

The negative reviews I am seeing is mostly the fetchy type of quests gameplay loop. Which I guess makes sense considering these guys made MMORPGs before this. The best summation I have seen yet is that this is NOT the next Skyrim which is what I think a lot of people were hoping for. But more of a slower grind out a perfect character using tried and true methods from the MMO side of things. Which I don't mind personally.
I'll wait for the first sale and then probs pick it up then. Looks super interesting.

I'd buy it now. Worth it, IMO. I've had a lot of fun with it.

So is the ultimate vote "Great game, but wait to buy it for a few months"?
