Already saved after the legendary, I just figured out before I had to shut down to go pick up my son that I could probably use the arches to my advantage.

Anyone else's get annoyed by a few of the things that seem pretty standard with weapons?

I mean ... Forget about the ****ty pipe guns ... I wonder what is in that expert safe hmmm pre-war money and a ****ty pipe rifle.

My biggest question is why are 8/10 hunting rifles I pick up are short barel with a pistol grip ... It's a damn bolt action rifle ... Why is it cut down for one handed usage!

Also not sure if it was discussed here or on Reddit, but why does my .50 cal receiver for the hunting rifle only do approximately 3 damage more than the .308?

Hardened compensated long barrel'd pipe pistol is the only thing I've got decent ammo for that will do more than 20 damage.

Took on a nest of raiders in a train station and used a ton of stimpaks and ammo fighting cinder. Then got jumped by a putrid glowing one and blew the rest of my ammo and a bunch of rad away and rad-x

Oh and one more thing Mr. Preston Garvey ... I am the mother ****in General now ... why the hell are YOU giving ME orders!?!?! ... How about you get off your lazy ass and go kill some ghouls yourself.

No wonder the minutemen collapsed ... they seemingly can only ever have one person actually working at any given time.

I got one yesterday "A settlement nearby is having a problem with some raiders" ... click on map ... keep scrolling south ... no keep going ... oh there it is about as far south as you can get .. I haven't even been down there yet and I am only level 21 ... not sure I want to venture that far south after the trouble I had with the Castle.

Rjgjt now .45 ammo is king. I have a legendary combat rifle that fires two projectiles and I do damage in the 150-160 range (i forget offhand) with it. I have close to 2000 rounds of it too.

I have a beastly shotgun, but it only does about half the dmg so I dont use it at all.

Is that the Overseer's Guardian? I am thinking about trying to go get that next time I get to play.

I pretty much buy up all of the .50 and shotgun shells at any vendor I come across that carries it. Any time I get low-ish on ammo I equip my super sledge and rock that for a while until I gather up enough ammo.

I completely leveled up my pistol perk, have a 20% VATS head aiming perk through a companion, VATS bonus through my power suit helmet, and a unique silenced 10mm pistol that increases accuracy in VATS and uses less AP. Couple all that with a stealth-boy modified power armor and I can simply creep my way through most buildings and one shot every enemy in the head.

WHAT THE HELL? Perhaps I'm only at level 14 so I'm not into the game as far as you guys yet, but I was stoked about having 600 rounds of 38. I've probably had at most 40 rounds of .45; how do you get so many? Does it get easier to find throughout the course of the game?

Granted I don't think I've met a single vendor yet who had nearly anything to trade.

Scrounger may very well be the most underrated perk there is. It's the one that ups your chances of finding ammo in containers. At first thought it seems like it wouldn't be worth it. In practice I could not disagree more. I NEVER run out of ammo. I haven't bought ammo since like level 8. I have three points into it (out of four) and right now I am finding approx 15-20 50.cal ammo in every third container. In addition to the gobs of .45 and .308.

I am now currently sitting at around 800 rounds of .50 cal. Didn't buy a single round. I ahve so much ammo I am running full auto on all my weapons for fun and selling the rest off in job lots. So I now have zero money problems. sitting around 70K caps right now. I don't even know what to do with it all.

Scrounger is amazing. A game change. especially early on. Throw one point into and there is a marked difference in your ammo uptake. put at least one more and you will definitely notice.

Oh and containers count as anything that can....well contain something. So that means looting dead bodies as well.

Harder enemies have better weapons so as you venture further and further south of Diamond city you will start to get attacked by Raiders/Gunner/Super Mutants that are carrying more and more .45 and .308 rounds (although you will still get a lot of .38 as well) ... one tip is to always pick up a weapon if it has ammo you want because you will get the ammo in the weapon as well then you can immediately drop it to save carrying weight.

Also, I recommend leveling up your lock pick as I have found several ammo stashes in building around the city with 20+ of .45 and .308 and about 10 .50 if not more. I don't even have the scrounger perk (or whichever makes it easier to find ammo) and I have 600+ of everything but shotgun shells which I just stopped picking up because I rarely use it and I figured 400 was plenty.

Something else I have seen people do is pick up every .38 they can find then basically use it as currency to sell to merchants and buy whatever ammo they actually use. One guy said he went on a run with no .38 weapon or ammo and when he returned to Diamond City he had over 400 rounds of .38 in about an hour or two of questing ... sold it all off and bought .45. So basically, once you get past the point of needing a .38 in stock you can view all .38 ammo as caps.

Interesting. Didn't want to waste any points in that. Had been using my overseer's guardian (.308) but am now using the crap out of my gauss wep that does ~400/shot with +25% damage and added limb damage

Scrounger was the second skill point I assigned and have never wanted for ammo. I used to carry a weapon of each ammo type to prevent running out of ammo but that is not necessary now.

Will I ever use subway tokens? Will they ever explain the monkey dolls with glowing eyes and cymbals?

They are like motion detectors. Do some of them set off bombs, too? I thought so...

I have so much .38 that I sell most of it. Course, money is not a problem when you start selling purified water. Easiest way to make money. The scrounger perks and lock picks are good to get early in the game.

Best set of regular armor? I'm currently using a combination of Devastators chest piece and greave (buy them at New House), combat armor, and a synth piece.

I think there is some way to give the subway tokens to the subway programed protecterons so that they don't attack you.

Has anybody figured out what the different settings on the protecterons are good for? Like fire, for example. Or why'd I set it to subway rather than police?

One of the load screens says that the Protectron in Firefighter mode has a Cryogun that it uses. But have not tried anything besides police.

Well tonight I pretty much turned the game into Fallout:Breaking Bad.

Been grinding at the chemist lab cooking up Jet by mixing plastics and fertilizer, then peddling Jet to any and all vendors at 40 caps a pop. Was gonna try to get to 100k in caps, but I finally started running low on fertilizer. Had over 2000 fertilizer when i started my drug dealing and would buy it from vendors when I sold my Jet. Also bought junk with plastic but still have plenty of plastics.

My product is all over the wasteland. I wish I could pull settlers off of their duties farming crops and put their asses to work scavenging for fertilizer and plastics and cooking up my dope.
