I guess some democrats got absolutely dunked on in debates last night.

Brutal.

Still no Dems with any ideas other than free stuff for all and Orange Man Bad. Trump has broken over half of the electorate, broken the media and broken polling.

As good as he is at fixing things he may be even better at breaking them.

I expect the sad news to continue to mount for the left. Expect some wild Trump story "according to sources familiar with the incident agreeing to discuss on the condition of anonymity".

There are lots of videos of Collins getting dunked on last night. I think she might be in real danger there.

DSA candidates who never worked for anything can't understand what it's like for regular Americans who do. Poor Rob

Well, he appeals to Aaron Rupars of the left but I don't think so.

I don't think it moved the needle much but Collins didn't need it to. Sane voters aren't going for that pile doo on the left that Troy Jackson represents.

Are there more than a few hundred people watching these debates? I doubt they move the needle even with really stupid comments being made by the dem candidates.

Certainly not enough to be considered mass-debated.

After every single debate each side proclaims their guy/gal won clearly. Recall; Jill Biden ("Doctor") exclaiming how great peepaw joe did in the debate that ultimately drove him to withdraw (with similarly fawning coverage on the usual leftist propaganda outlets). The main ramification isn't ever the actual viewers on TV, but coverage/decisions made afterward (both social media posts and media coverage). It gets attention in a way closing ads simply don't, imho.

And older voters won't get their news from CNN/Aaron Rupar etc. Collins' voters will see it as a win.

If shill propagandists Guy Benson and Benny Johnson say the Dems will lose, well that's it. Game over.

You're giving the voters of Maine far far too much credit.

Kamala won by seven points there. This isn't exactly a sharp group.

I wouldn't argue with you on that point, but Susan Collins has also won big there, most recently by 9 in 2020.

There's no reason to think she will do worse this time against an inferior candidate inserted at the last second.

Dems thinking the polls are showing a "Walz" to victory should take a pause, though we know they won't…

Right now, overnight temps in Maine are dipping down in the 30s and residents are filling up their heating oil tanks at a 100% markup compared to last year.

Folks are likely going to vote with their wallet.

It doesn't matter. A large number of voters in that situation vote against the party in power when it happens. It won't change anything in reality but they hope it does and it lets them vent their anger against the party in power that they blame for the current situation. It has been that way in the US for a long time and will continue to be that way into the future.

It is true most polls show 65% of Americans correctly hold Trump and the GOP responsible for all the disastrous and stupid things Trump and the Trump Rs have done.

But even so, the Rs might win.

Perhaps the midterm gerrymandering and billions of dollars in GOP ads and partisan tribalism and voters staying home will succeed in retaining control of at least the Senate for the Rs.

That uncertainty is part of what makes politics interesting and fun to follow.

Just a quick look at Adam Hamilton's website provided the following:

  • Require competitive bidding for electricity transmission projects
  • Ending the Trump Tariffs that are being paid for by Americans
  • Standardizing regulations for modular homes to help reduce their costs
  • Truth in pricing rules, the price advertised for an item should be the price you pay (refers to "junk fees" tacked on at checkout)
  • Strengthening the dept of Labor enforcement ability so they can combat wage theft (unpaid wages, stolen tips, etc.)
Those are all pretty specific things that would make a lot of people's lives better

And talk about running away from the leadership he has supported;

Most all transmission projects, like most all government projects, are competitively bid. What issue is he solving?

Tariffs have a purpose. You don't have to agree with it, but they are serving a gigantic purpose and have been hugely beneficial to our future as a Country and to our current economy.

Standardizing modular housing is going to reduce their costs? How? I have run several projects where we utilized modular housing for DR housing recovery. There is nothing a government regulation will do to drive costs out of that business.

Junk fee disclosures? Where does this remain an issue? Hotels and airlines resolved their issues mostly by the customers demanding the transparency. Again, where is this an issue?

Trump passed no tax on tips which has to be many multiples the benefit to those workers than any wage theft. Where in the heck is wage theft an issue?

Those are either non-issues or free sodas and candy bars type rhetoric.

If that's what the left is coming with, I would not be putting money on blue. That is not a platform, its a joke.

Ok.
  • Require competitive bidding for electricity transmission projects (what projects are not currently competitively bid, and why?). His own link provides that his gripe is with the Evergy award, which saved 20+ months. A lengthy competitive bid cycle in south central Kansas would have helped...who, exactly?
  • Ending the Trump Tariffs that are being paid for by Americans (why stop the onshoring of manufacturing Trump has begun?)
  • Standardizing regulations for modular homes to help reduce their costs (I have never heard of 'modular home regulations' as a voter concern until this afternoon. I'm skeptical the junior Dem senator from KS would drive a federalization of such standards.)
  • Truth in pricing rules, the price advertised for an item should be the price you pay (refers to "junk fees" tacked on at checkout) (Another new issue I didn't realize truth in advertising laws are a big issue this year.)
  • Strengthening the dept of Labor enforcement ability so they can combat wage theft (unpaid wages, stolen tips, etc.) (Wage theft is generally a state issue, as in Texas (Texas workforce commission/payday laws). What is he going to do to 'fix' issues states are unwilling to fix, and why does that need to be a federal issue?
In fact, on that last plank he's been accused of obvious defamation based on his ads;
Quote:

The lawyers for U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kansas, said in a Monday letter that the Rev. Adam Hamilton's campaign had published and distributed ads about Marshall's medical debt collection practices that were "defamatory."
The ad begins with Meischa Zimmerman, who said she was arrested while eight months pregnant for missing a $50 payment to Marshall. She was paying roughly $50 a month to account for 18% interest on nearly $3,600 in total debt, according to court records.
The woman was one of more than 700 patients who Marshall sued while a practicing physician in Great Bend, according to reporting by the New York Times.
"The unmistakable message to a reasonable viewer is that Senator Marshall caused a pregnant patient to be arrested and jailed for missing a single $50 payment. That message is false in every material respect," the letter said.
The Hamilton campaign's ad had been viewed more than one million times on X.
Heartland Regional OBGYN, where Marshall worked, opened a case against the woman in December 2009, according to court documents. Zimmerman was first arrested in 2011. She said in the Hamilton campaign ad that she was handcuffed while pregnant in front of her 2-year-old daughter.
Marshall's lawyers took issue with three facets of the ad. They said Zimmerman wasn't arrested for a missed payment but, instead, for failing to appear in court. They said the campaign ad frames the premise of the arrest on a $50 bill rather than the sum of Zimmerman's debts. They said the arrest wasn't a surprise, arguing that court records show Zimmerman "was called to court in three different counties by eight different businesses over a multi-year period, including by a different hospital and in an eviction proceeding."
Zimmerman said in the ad: "Roger Marshall preyed on the low-income families of Kansas."

So, a typical pathetic democrat liar, in other words, defamatory, seeks to centralize power in a federal bureaucracy, dishonest, and also to boot managed to play a significant role in destroying a major christian denomination. I'd agree he is an 'ideal Democrat' indeed.

You are correct in that the patients were arrested for missing court.

Who do you think requested the arrest warrants be issued?
Roger Marshall via his lawyers.

Basically he set people up on a payment plan and when they missed payments he sued them. If they missed the court date, his lawyers requested an arrest warrant be issued to force them into the court. All told he sued 700 patients and had 81 arrested for missed court dates. Sometimes the bills were several thousands, sometimes as little as $101. We can argue all day about medical debt and paying what you owe. Roger Marshall certainly had every legal right to go after those with unpaid medical debts to him.

But when you are an OB-GYN, it's never going to be a good look having your patients arrested since most will be new moms or soon to be moms.

Michigan turnout is pretty shocking to me so far.

I've been optimistic about MI rejecting jihad for a while now, but it is clearly manifesting in the data at this point, which is great to see.
