So now this is a war. We started a war with Iran without preparing or receiving support from EU and Gulf Coast countries. We were not prepared for what Iran is doing or we were so arrogant we thought everybody would just join plus afterwards and this would be like Venezuela.

I'm more convinced the best thing Trump can do is declare victory tomorrow morning. Regime change wasnt one of the 4 objectives. So this still allows him to claim victory and Iran to claim victory. Fighting stops economic distraction stops.

We have 5 Destroyers I read, with the Gerald Ford CSG. The brits have zero so have to ask the French for one to help, if they even deploy a carrier. I'm not a navy type but that speaks volumes to real capacity, imho, and neither Euro carrier is close (within 20-40 percent) to the size/combat capacity of a US CVN.

Things change. Lots of lessons learned from not just the forever wars but most recently and most impact fully the lessons learned in the Ukraine.

There will no mass deployment of troops. Hell, we can use various drones vs soldiers to continue hunting bad guys. Remember the Hamas dude waving his pimp stick whilst the drone chased him around his crib?

The WH is arguing its was time to strike Iran because they were a weakened target. At the same time Trump is arguing he had to strike bc Iran was also on the verge of "taking over the entire ME".
