Living in California during the first part of the covid fiasco, id say that quadrupling down is the starting point. Doubling down is simply the beginning of the blame phase. Even after being proven wrong 4 or 5 times, there will never be an admission of being wrong. Applications for police academies are also down so replacements for those leaving are not in the pipeline in the amounts needed. Some of that is because of DEI policies.

Oh, there's nothing wrong with being prejudiced. We all are to some degree.

I just don't think one's prejudices should remove them from the people they've been protecting for years. But, that's their decision, and all one can hope for is that those officers get replaced quickly so the citizens don't lose the protection they've been accustomed to.
