Endorse crap policies and regulations as long as it doesn't affect them, and isn't in their neighborhoods.

Want wind and solar grid, want to house the homeless, but it all has to be out of sight or they'll sue.

And I'm not against energy innovation or helping the homeless, but the way the left approaches the problem through regulations for industry, and lack of accountability for individuals, always makes it worse.

Yes and, because the left doesn't feel the constitution is binding, the next time they get control of the executive they will shift the costs for their failing city and state insanity to all the rest of us.

At a concept level if they actually had to deal with the consequences they would reverse course, but they can shift the consequences quite easily

Exact same for families affected by an illegal immigrant murder, assault, rape, or drunk driving accident.
