This has to be fake, right?

$20K tax free income per month in housing and food is the equivalent of having the gross income of someone making $240K a year, which is nearly 3x the average US household income in this country.

Meanwhile, your kid who graduated 12 months ago is still trying to find a job.

What the hell are we doing, if it's not committing societal suicide?

So what I am reading is...

If someone is hungry enough to steal your groceries, rather than thinking.. "I wonder why someone is desperate enough to steal groceries", you will....shoot them.

Let's think rationally about this- we aren't talking about stealing tvs or phones or whatever. Groceries. Groceries. Food.

Doesn't this make anyone stop and think?

Why do you think HEB is donating 5 million to food banks and 1 million to Meals on Wheels?

Our elderly are almost 20% of SNAP recipients. AND elderly often cannot leave their house to go to food banks so they rely on help. But what if there is no help?

A semi-honest media reporting the truth about the shutdown would ensure red supermajorities in'26..

So, how is the SNAPocalypse going today? Has anyone seen unruly crowds at a grocery store?

Most of them probably don't get up this early. Wait until mid afternoon or evening.

FYI....

Oh SNAP: Judges Order Trump Admin To Use Emergency Funds For Food Assistance

Two judges have stepped in over the federal government suspension of food-aid benefits for tens of millions of Americans set to end on Nov. 1 amid the shutdown.

On Friday, US District Judge John McConnell of Rhode Island announced that he would order the US Department of Agriculture to distribute a pool of contingency funds "as soon as possible."
While minutes before, Boston US District Judge Indira Talwani ruled that the US government must announce by Nov. 3 whether they would authorize at least partial funding for the program using around $6 billion in contingency funds - and if so, when will they do it.

McConnell's order is related to a case brought by Democrat-led cities and nonprofits who sought to keep federal funds flowing the the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), while Talwani's case was brought by over two dozen Democratic states and the District of Columbia.

It's FlyRod!

The data is suspect:

From October 31 to November 3, 2025, Data for Progress conducted a survey of 1,228 U.S. likely voters nationally using web panel respondents. The sample was weighted to be representative of likely voters by age, gender, education, race,
geography, and recalled presidential vote. The survey was conducted in English. The margin of error associated with the
sample size is 3 percentage points. Results for subgroups of the sample are subject to increased margins of error.

Why not use the actual language of the question which was, "Do you have a favorable or unfavorable view of SNAP?" The question asked was not, "should the federal government fund SNAP" or "should the federal government fund SNAP for both citizens and noncitizens?"

Real trustworthy source you have there.

"Data for Progress is the think tank for the future of progressivism. Through polling, policy development..."

And yes, FFP and DFP are the same entity.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Why not use the actual language of the question which was, "Do you have a favorable or unfavorable view of SNAP?" The question asked was not, "should the federal government fund SNAP" or "should the federal government fund SNAP for both citizens and noncitizens?"

This is just like the polls about congressional approval and crap like that. With a generic question, you will generally get meaningless data that doesn't give you any guidance on what people prefer you to do politically. Sure, lots of Republicans are warm hearted folks who believe in SNAP as a concept and want to see it funded at some level. That doesn't mean they want the Rs to cave to the D demands and fund medicare for illegals so that they will open the government back up and restore SNAP funding. They could also think the program is bloated with a ton of fraud and recipients that don't deserve what they get and want it cut significantly and have work requirements attached to it.

Everybody loves to point out the various congressional approval polls and how unpopular congress always is, while ignoring that the reasons they are unpopular may vary widely based on who you talk to. With an R led congress, they will get hammered by Ds for anything they try to pass, and hammered by a significant portion of the Rs for not aggressively implementing Trump's America First agenda and codifying the DOGE cuts permanently. The result is super low approval ratings that reflect that the only people satisfied with what they are doing are people who have no idea what they have actually done or not done and a small sliver of the concerned moderates for whom the uniparty status quo is their ideal state.
