If you are drunk on a plane you can fly and continue to be drunk. But if a crew member tells you to stop drinking, and you refuse, your'e getting thrown off. You didn't get thrown off for being drunk or drinking, you got thrown off for not obeying crew instruction.

If you are rude on a plane you can fly and continue to be rude. But if a crew member tells you to stop being rude, and you refuse, your'e getting thrown off. You didn't get thrown off for being rude, you got thrown off for not obeying crew instruction.

If you wear an offensive shirt you can fly and continue to be crass. But if a crew member tells you to turn it inside out, and you refuse, your'e getting thrown off. You didn't get thrown off for being crss, you got thrown off for not obeying crew instruction.

If you are watching porn on a plane you can fly and continue to watch porn. But if a crew member tells you to stop watching porn, and you refuse, your'e getting thrown off. You didn't get thrown off for watching porn, you got thrown off for not obeying crew instruction.

Make sense now?

This is patently false. He wore the hat on the plane and wasn't denied boarding or immediately kicked off. He was simply asked to store it. If he did so he's staying on the plane, even though he owned the hat, wore the hat, and held opinions supporting the hat. But he committed the cardinal sin of disobeying a crew member instruction. That will get you kicked off no matter what you do, period.

It as absolutely true. He was removed for wearing the hat. The was the basis for the instruction. Your argument is illogical nonsense.

In my Aggie/Longhorn example, it'd be the same thing.

Delta would certainly be within its rights to request that I remove it. I'd be within my rights to briefly point out how dumb that was, but in the end, I'd have to remove it or take another flight.

I'd also certainly be within my rights to complain to the company and ***** on social media about it and on Texags. If it went viral enough, that would be adequate PR punishment for Delta. It'd go up the chain of command at Delta and upper level management would sort it out.

No. He in fact wore the hat on the plane and wasn't kicked off.

No one had complained at that point. LOL.

After the complaint, if he wore or displayed the hat, would he have been kicked off?

Depends on if the crew gave him an instruction and he ignored it.

Ok. Isn't that what happened?

This had nothing to do with safety. The reason he was kicked off is wearing/displaying the hat.

You can wear a MAGA hat or a **** Trump hat on a plane, and you may be asked to remove it. You might also not be asked to remove it.
If you refuse to obey an order of the flight crew, they will kick you off the plane every single time.
I don't know why this is so complicated for some people.

It has to do with safety if the PIC determines it does. That's the point you still don't get. He's the lone arbitor of what constitutes valid safety concerns.

Yes, and his only remedy is what I listed above. Which is what he did by posting the video.

Now it is up to Delta if they instruct its employees to allow people to wear profanity on their clothing. Delta will weigh the business it will lose if they do/dont' and make a decision.

I'm betting by the comments, to the viral posts and if a poll were taken, it would heavily weight in favor of not allowing people to wear profane materials on flights.

Edit: And not just profanity but highly charged political profanity that is intended to "own the libs" and provoke them.

Amazing people are still arguing about this because they think it was a MAGA hat, when it wasn't.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Nobody thinks that. HTH. That was a hypothetical given to show how absurd this episode was. It was not safety, it was political and the root cause was the hat which offended someone.

You're right.

If you wear a red MAGA hat (not in this case) to a liberal area, and get your ass kicked, well, that's on you! Lesson learned!

Bottom line: anyone who complained about this hat is a low IQ snowflake. I say that as someone who thinks the guy was stupid for wearing it.

When i go to Spain in a few weeks, if I see someone on my plane wearing a shirt that says "Trump is an ass", I'm gonna laugh and roll my eyes, not run to the crew and wail about it.

I agree with you on that point. It's not a terrible profane word that would be censored here. Kind of on the line. If I were there and there were no kids and their was some lib woman *****ing about it, I think that's ridiculous.

I'd be quietly judgmental about a Dem or an R who wore politically charged stuff on a plane. But I 'd talk to them, help them get their bag down or whatever. Flying sucks and I try to be as nice as I can to everyone on the plane.
Teslag

That's where I'm at. Flying sucks. I hate it. And I hate it more with delays. So if I were on that flight, even though I agree with the guy's hat, I'd still be thinking "dude just stow the ****ing hat so we can be on our way". And then if he refused I'd be thinking "Just throw that guy off already so we can be on our way".

What if there were a passenger on a flight that had a "Jesus Christ is an ass" hat? I'd be offended with that as well. You can think of a ton of examples "Legalize Pedophilia Now!" Epstein did nothing wrong, etc... I might have beer or two on a flight and wanna kick that guys ass.

If that is the logic being used then everyone must wear pad locked straight jackets on flights.

This seems obvious but as Teslag stated its about following directions.
I 100% agree there are flight attendants with power trips. However, this is the same type of guy that gives blowback for having to answer exit row questions or arguing about putting his bag further underneath the seat so in a fiery crash and the cabin is dark and smoke-filled, no one in his row is tripping and falling over his stupid bag.

If he's trying to make a point over a hat with profanity and not remove it because " screw everyone else, I'm the important one" who's to say in an emergency he's not the guy grabbing all 3 of his bags because " screw everyone else, I'm the important one" and takes valuable time to get out of the plane?

Exactly.

The ONLY thing that pisses me off is someone delaying the flight. Well two things. People who won't let people in front of them stand up, remove their bag, get their things together without trying to rush pass them and not let them out of their seat also annoy the hell out of me. That extra minute is not that important, bro.

Very good example.............. now, you take your hat off and go back on the plane. You call the stewardess over and make the same complaint about the tu hat and she and the pilot say to turn your head and look away. But, but, but I had to take my hat off........... Too bad I am the pilot.

So sure the pilot has this say so but I am saying the hypocrisy must end.
