Tucker's model country Russia spies on us all the time.suburban cowboy said:
His demeanor was arrogant, but Tucker is right.
An American Senator lobbying to bomb a country and he doesn't know their population or ethnic breakdown.
Iran is a slightly more complex scenario than "Mullahs bad, let's crank up the war machine"
Tucker is also right about spying. We should not allow any foreign nation to spy on us, regardless if they're an ally.

The gotcha questions were bad, but Cruz really screwed up when he said "we" were fighting Iran. If we're truly fighting this war, Iran has casus belli against the USA

Apologies to those who support him, but if he actually believes this he's not very smart. The idea that Iran could detonate a nuclear weapon on US soil before we even knew they had developed one is completely absurd. Definitely playing a stupid gotcha game. But Cruz should also know basic demographics of a country he's advocating for overthrowing.
It goes to show how desensitized we have become to such an endeavor we do it so frequently.

He didn't say what you asserted, so your argument is nonsensical. They are developing long range missiles. If they are successful in developing a nuke (and they may have already enriched enough uranium for making some nukes), they are a threat to reach the East Coast with a bomb in the short run, and the rest of the US in the long run. But regardless, if they get a nuke, they have leverage to prevent anyone from stopping them to do whatever they want over time.esteban said:

I was convinced Iran shouldn’t have nukes and that Israel should finish the job until I learned their total population.

Game changer.
Tucker Carlson memorized the population of Iran prior to an interview as a gotcha, but couldn’t get a single prediction right about how this conflict would go…

I’m willing to bet that Ted Cruz didn’t think India and Brazil were going to go to war to defend The Islamic Republic. https://t.co/iOyYWpdXGj

Tell me, how is our intelligence network advanced enough for you to know those specific details about their uranium enrichment but not advanced enough to detect the final assembly, testing, or deployment of actual nuclear weapons? It's a silly talking point.
I don't dispute that risk. What I'm asserting is that there is no way Iran could develop a nuclear weapon and deploy it without us knowing. The testing alone would be impossible to hide with present day surveillance tech.91AggieLawyer said:esteban said:

So you're asserting that, at any time in the future after Iran acquires nuclear capability, that an illegal coming up through Mexico can find themselves in LA (or anywhere else), park a bomb in an abandoned building or somewhere similar, and either set it off himself or set up a timer for it to go off while he escapes?
If you are, I'd like to see something backing that up. Not necessarily some authority saying it is impossible, but your own analysis (other than just rhetoric) suggesting that. I don't know if that can be done. But neither one of us knew several hijacked airliners were going to kill 3K people on 9/11.

I also don't buy the theory that they would develop a nuclear weapon only to secretly deploy it and set it off in a US city just to commit collective suicide. They want it for the same reason Pakistan did, as a deterrent.
