Again, completely naive to this board. Did not expect to be called an America hater! Was really just looking to see the reaction to the press conference. But, at this point, not sure I want to delete anything because then I will just be accused of hiding it. That is not something I am used to do either.
I believe your statement indicted people opposed to the war as being "pro Russia and pro Putin" which is not correct. People are allowing emotions to take control after your implication.
Everyone knows you are not an America hater.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”

We just watched POTUS attempt to extort Zelensky on National television in the presence of Russian state media "journalists" while the AP and Reuters were banned.

I mean this is a new low, even for Trump. Disgusting and childish are adjectives that won't get TexAgs word filtered. Beyond the incredulous treatment of AN ALLY, he literally went on a HUNTER BIDENS LAPTOP detour.

This is abominable.

WTF is he on about? Does he make that same accusation against Putin, the guy who actually started this war, by launching an unprovoked invasion of Ukraine? Why is the country defending itself the one being accused of "gambling with World War III"?
Although I have wasted a lot of time today reading this thread I would genuinely like to thank you and the other unhinged libs melting down on F16 today. This thread has genuinely been one of the more entertaining I have read in quite some time.

Yes, I know nothing matters as long as it "owns the libs." You and countless others have made it quite clear that no matter how bad something is, as long as 'libs' are crying, it must be good.

I would hardly call what we've given Ukraine for the past few years "nothing". Ukraine isn't entitled to anything from the U.S. at this point. If Z would rather scoff at the one nation willing to give him significant aid to score points at home, then good luck to him making it work with what he has...because today's display isn't going to sell more Americans on supporting them.

Zelenskyy needed security guarantees. Johnson already said there would be no new aid. This deal only offered vague details on how the US could recover its original investment. What about that makes Ukraine more secure? Russia has already violated two agreements, what on earth would make you think Putin would keep this deal backed by undeveloped mineral rights?
After 3 years of this mess, it's clear that no matter what amount of money we send...it's not making Ukraine any more secure. At some point we have to think about our interests instead of being pushed for more and more and more.

If you're telling me for roughly $150 billion we could decimate the Russian army and not lose a single American soldier, I think most would take that deal.

I just don't get all the vitriolic hatred for Zelensky. He's not as corrupt as Biden and not as evil as Putin. And he's not quite the narcissist as Trump is. He's the guy charged with looking out for his country. No, he's not perfect - nobody is. He's certainly made some blunders. But innocent people's lives are at stake in his country and he is trying. Hell, he's not even a professional politician.

You can not want to spend money on Ukraine and I respect that - "not our problem". But to actively side with Putin? That guy is a war criminal 100x worse than Z is.

Props to Trump though for making everyone uncomfortable and moving the needle...somewhere. Biden couldn't wake up long enough to care.

The American people have paid over a 100 billion helping Ukraine under Biden, a man we elected. Well guess what, we now elected Trump and want our money back or do not want to support them, what he ran on and what we want.

So take our terms or F off.

Considering they were at the doorstep of the capital and now they are bogged down in a in the eastern edge of the country in a war that is going to ruin Russia. I'd say they are winning.

If we attacked Mexico and they pushed us back to the border and out of the "Gulf of America". And our economy was in ruins. Trust me, nobody would be claiming that we were winning the war.

Who's saying he's wrong for defending his country?

He's wrong for not trying to do what he can to work a peace deal when the alternative is worse for Ukraine in terms of lives lost and very likely territory as well. Ukraine is running out of people willing to fight, and they're relying on other countries, the US specifically, for equipment to fight.

The Ukrainians have fought bravely and well… and are inevitably going to lose, and the loss is going to cost them much more than the peace deal will.

'There was no promise not to enlarge NATO'
quote from the article
  • "I was in those meetings, and Gorbachev has [also] said there was no promise not to enlarge NATO," Zoellick recalls. Soviet Foreign Minister, Eduard Shevardnadze, later president of Georgia, concurred, he says. Nor does the treaty on Germany's unification include a limit on NATO enlargement. Those facts have undermined one of Russian President Vladimir Putin's justifications for invading Ukraine that the United States had agreed that former Warsaw Pact nations would never become part of the North Atlantic security alliance.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”

But it is making a difference...Putin hasn't captured Kiev. Russia is ACTIVELY attempting to annex a sovereign allied nation and our support in the form of munitions and old equipment is enough to stalemate the entire attack. Russia is bleeding out financially and literally (they are running out of soldiers and have to beg NK for troops). They would love to negotiate a "cease fire" where they get to keep the land they captured, regroup, and prepare for the next phase of the invasion. WE CANNOT LET THAT HAPPEN unless we are prepared to continue further support if they try again.

For all you endless war proponents: Did you know there are many armed conflicts going on around the globe that involve one country occupying another's land? You don't care about the territorial integrity of the non-Uke "sovereign nations". The US should engage when it's of benefit to the US. If the Euros want to fund the perpetual stalemate then let them. We've given enough for a lost cause that has zero effect on us.

Everyone on here worried about Russia, are not paying attention to the other large country that starts with the letter C and ends with the letter A. Russia hasn't been a threat since the 80s. The real threat comes feom the country that makes your TV, microwaves, cellphones, clothes, and oh by the way, the same country that gave us a pandemic. But by all means let's be afraid of little ol Russia.
