Both sides will need to agree to concessions. But right now, one side is aiming the guns at himself.

Why is it unprofessional? Their voices were barely raised, no foul language, no unnecessary name calling.
I have been in many a meeting that got heated in tense when the stakes are high. It happens and typically leads to a much quicker coming to terms by all parties.
