Why are we allowing it over restricted airspace? They would be easy to take down, yet we don't? Am i wrong?

Sure it's easy to take down. But then it has to fall somewhere (or on someone).

Anyone else remember the drones over the missile fields at FE Warren that conveniently disappeared right as the pandemic started? Did we ever get an explanation on them?

My cousin lives in N NJ and sent me a video last night of a drone over her cul de sac. She was asking if I knew what they were (since I do UAS work for a living).

It was a quick little thing.

Either people are seriously misjudging the size or it is a hoax. Something the size of a car could not stay covert, particularly when trying to move it around and launch or retrieve it.

I heard the size of a "hood of a car", which isn't really that insane in terms of the end-to-end length and width a drone could be. People keep thinking these drones are the actual size of cars.

People are terrible at estimating sizes of things even in clear weather and daylight. I'm not surprised at the variance in sizes reported for these things, whatever they are.

There are ag drones made in Richmond, TX that are 10 feet x 10 feet. That is pretty big.

Well at least the military is not using predator drones over US cities.

I've got an airframe sitting at the house right now i never quite finished building that about the size of a car hood. Not that hard for a hobbyist.

The only way what is being reported couldnt be built in your living room is if they're able to withstand the very serious countermeasures the .mil has. Nothing about them operating where they are is outside the capabilities of your average FPV drone, and things like ardupilot have been able to do it for years.

People forget that drones are not that terribly complicated.

I would think they are our drones but I would think testing classified systems that they don't want to disclose.

But who knows? By them not saying anything they make it worse.

Those people on that thread need to add more tin foil to their hats.

You cannot hide a nuke or dirty bomb going off. If one did, everyone would know it.

As for claiming that there have been dozen of WC-135 flights over the area, that is just some idiot spreading hysteria.

There is a huge flight tracker community and none of them have noted any unusual WC-135 flights. There have been a few over the US, but that's normal because training flights happen regularly.
