Yeah I get that having Trump's ear is the real perception of power and influence.MarkTwain said:aggiehawg said:

Well you know how Trump is with loyalty first off. Secondly if she gets the nod she suddenly becomes EFH. And she also is another strong intelligent woman and that is another finger to Cuban. Deutsche Bank is solid as a rock and respected globally in the big picture. But I think everything hinges on loyalty with the Don
Hope it's wrong, but I'm hearing through the grapevine about this bonkers plan: Trump would adjourn both Houses of Congress under Article II, section 3, and then recess-appoint his Cabinet.

Good. Gen X has failed this country by allowing the Boomers to remain in power for far too long.JJxvi said:
So...this gonna be the "Millennial Cabinet" for Trump?

Article II, Section 3 both grants and constrains presidential power. This Section invests the President with the discretion to convene Congress on "extraordinary occasions," a power that has been used to call the chambers to consider nominations, war, and emergency legislation. It further grants the President the authority to adjourn Congress whenever the chambers cannot agree when to adjourn, a power that no President has ever exercised.
It’s going to get even better.

In brief: The Supreme Court might well rule that the president's power to make recess appointments is limited to intersession recessesthe recesses between two Senate sessionsand, further, that it applies only to offices that become vacant during that recess.
Those are the positions that Justice Scalia, joined by Chief Justice Roberts, Justice Thomas, and Justice Alito, embraced in his powerful concurrence in the judgment ten years ago in NLRB v. Canning (2024). Scalia condemns the "tragedy" of the "majority's deference to the unconstitutional recess-appointment practices of the Executive Branch" and the "damage done to our separation-of-powers jurisprudence more generally."
Oddly enough, Trump’s new DNI, Tulsi Gabbard, is also deeply intertwined in the US-funded biolabs in Ukraine saga.

She was the only big-name politician to speak out about the labs after Victoria Nuland spilled the beans, and took A LOT of backlash for it.

I liked the first several appointments but now it seems like Trump is just picking Don Jr's buddies.
Where is the offer for the following:
Youngkin
DeSantis
Tim Scott
Rand
Cruz
Mike Lee
Burgum
Those guys seem to be more qualified and effective than a lot of the choices today.
