I don't know anything about her. Is Trump giving her this position she will be good and uphold the agenda? Or as a kick back for running his successful campaign?

Trumps new Chief of Staff is Susan Summerall, also known as the Ice Maiden.

"Some call her the "Ice Maiden", while others know her as "the most feared and least known political operative" in the US."

She also worked for Ronald Reagan.

If this continues absolutely nothing will change. I don't understand why they keep pushing the same people over and over again.

Rumor around the Texas capitol is Abbott for HSI CHIEF.

Good call. You probably know her better than Trump.

Musk & RFKJr won't be in the cabinet.

Homan seems a shoe-in for Homeland Security.

Massie for agriculture.

Burgum for energy

The Hill has a decent piece of speculation about various folks for cabinet jobs. Do not want Rubio (member, Senate intelligence swamp committee) to run State, Grenell would be great though.

I've read in a couple other places that it's expected Grenell gets a spot not requiring senate confirmation

Thune also blathered yesterday that Trump needs to stay out of the Senate leadership decision process. He is presently the last person I would want to see fill the turtle's seat.

Separately, and back on topic, I would highly favor Alex for Trump's cabinet in some capacity. I have heard he was key to the successful targeting of young adult males in particular and now I see how much the clowns at CNN hate him so he obviously is an A+ choice for a close advisor at least:

Yeah, no way Trump goes along with Thune. So we may end up with Cornyn as a compromise candidate instead of Scott from Florida who is the consensus conservative candidate. which would be a shame.

I like Grenell- what is his position on supporting Israel?

I haven't seen him talk about Israel, really. He's primarily a loyalist, imho, and will take direction on policy matters instead of making it all about himself, which is what I'd like to see at State.

Trump favoring a strong/peaceful/secure Israel is pretty much uncontested, so it's heartwarming to see him performing so well with arab voters. I expect his State Department to be run as such.

Humorously:

Anyone who thinks Thune is a good choice - listen to the morning Joe clip

100%. You can find equally bad clips from Pompeo. Both of these guys need to be kept away from Republican Party leadership positions.

The intriguing thing coming out of this election is that President Trump has a lot more leeway to form his cabinet. Having the lead the GOP now has in the Senate, President Trump can dip into that pool to bolster his administration without worrying about how his choices might affect their majority. He didn't have that luxury before.

The Hill is a great source for DC news. A lot of different perspectives. They ended up getting a lot of top names right for the Biden cabinet.

Rubio and Grenell in running for SoS.

Susie Wiles maybe for Chief of Staff. That's a brutal role though and she doesn't want to be in the spotlight.

Talking about Eric Schmitt, Senator from Missouri as AG. He's very close to Trump.

Doug Burgum is the shoo in nominee for Secretary of Energy. It is reported that Trump was already calling him Mr Secretary.

Robert O'Brien was Trump's chief hostage negotiator and national security advisor. May end up having an exec role (maybe DHS possibly SoS) or back again with National Security team.

They think NY Rep Elise Stefanik maybe in the running for UN.

They didn't mention it but Homan would definitely be a guy in the running for DHS.
Trump having the first openly gay SoS would make the Dems heads explode.

i just interpreted that Richard Grenell is being tabbed for a lower position. I think only ambassadors and high level cabinet positions require a senate confirmation.

Maybe I'm just reading it wrong.

I don't know if there's a skeleton- as if an R-controlled senate couldn't confirm him- but I think he had some health/cancer issue so maybe he doesn't want a full time high level position.

thats one thing I read, not my take.

apparently he is very caustic and not liked by senate. they thought is they can put him in a similar role with as much influence (like his old job) and not have to worry about senate not thinking he's appropriate for SoS.
