Thanks for your insight and comments. Have you cross checked Salatin's claims that his yield is comparable or better (depends on crop / species and i don't recall all the specifics) than conventional, chemical ag? What about Will Harris' claims - have you looked at those?

Are they just lying? Have you tested it and seen it or just repeating what your industry says? I'm not trying to be rude, just honestly asking.

Paxton would be a good AG. He's been through it like Trump has. He's got big balls of steel and hopefully would do what needs to be done in the DOJ.
Paxton would have made a good national AG but he would not survive the appointment process. You don't need your prospective AG taking the 5th or perjuring himself under oath.
Press would tear up Paxton. He can work in Texas and he would be fine in the Senate but the wrong guy to be AG. Need someone with DC experience that really understands the DOJ and where the bodies are buried. Hawley. DeSantis. Roy. Jordan. Lee. Good lawyers who play for keeps. Folks like that.

Need people like Patel involved somewhere important. The swamp knows how to hide and play games. Need insiders like him and Flynn to go in with a surgical blowtorch.

I am a graduate of Ray Archuletta's course in North Carolina while an agronomist with USDA NRCS, and was even asked to join his cadre (not a promotion and I didn't want to move that late in my career after just losing a wife). I am a full on believer in the principles of regenerative ag, but having worked far and wide on an enormous variety of crops and climates I can tell you the practice doesn't fly everywhere as much as it's being pushed everywhere. It's a lot easier where it rains on a predictable regularity or you don't need to harvest a crop each year. There are most certainly things many farmers can do to improve their overall soil health and sustainability, and a vast majority of them realize this. However, in a time when a no-till planter cost a half million dollars and a sprayer is right along with it, many are forced to do the best they can with what they can maintain in the here and now. The days of massive dust storms like during the 20s and 50s are long gone thanks to some better farming practices (don't bother wasting your time on "the big dust storm last year", because the frequency is no where near what it used to be).

As a side note, the number of evil chemicals farmers use in reality is likely a tiny fraction of what is in most consumer's heads, and glyphosate does not cause cancer.

There will be a special election for JD Vance's seat in the Senate. Vivek is from Ohio. People are tying him to that. Maybe he goes for it. But I see Vivek as more of an executive than a legislator. He'd be better served as OH governor; not sure when that is up. Or for a faster rise, maybe a position in Trump's administration where he can slash bureaucracies.

The Hill is a great source for DC news. A lot of different perspectives. They ended up getting a lot of top names right for the Biden cabinet.

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/4979519-trumps-second-term-cabinet-heres-who-may-fill-key-roles/

Rubio and Grenell in running for SoS.

Susie Wiles maybe for Chief of Staff. That's a brutal role though and she doesn't want to be in the spotlight.

Talking about Eric Schmitt, Senator from Missouri as AG. He's very close to Trump.

Doug Burgum is the shoo in nominee for Secretary of Energy. It is reported that Trump was already calling him Mr Secretary.

Robert O'Brien was Trump's chief hostage negotiator and national security advisor. May end up having an exec role (maybe DHS possibly SoS) or back again with National Security team.

They think NY Rep Elise Stefanik maybe in the running for UN.

They didn't mention it but Homan would definitely be a guy in the running for DHS.

hoping Sage Steel as the Press Secretary!
Joe Rogan and his guest (can't recall his name) were REALLY opposed to Pompeo becoming Secretary of Defense. They said he would also be Hillary Clinton and Liz Cheney's pick. In other words a military industrial complex favorite.

I want somebody who will scare the Russians, Chinese, Iranians and North Koreans, but just enough to get them to heel. Not a guy who will push for WWIII level provocations. Who would best fit that requirement?

No, unless it was a General who didn't get promoted after Obama became president. The E-Ring mentality needs to be purged. My pick for SecDef would be Trae Stephens (https://warontherocks.com/2022/06/rebooting-the-arsenal-of-democracy/). I would also love to see Hung Cao as SecNav (though Stu Scheller would also be a great change agent).

It's not a cabinet position abd he wouldn't take the pay cut but Dan Bongino would be excellent as Director USSS.

Not sure what your point is. If it is that Pompeo is trying to weasel his way back into power, then I agree. And he needs to be kept away at all costs.

If you are defending the idea of keeping Pompeo around with real power, then I will have to respectfully disagree with you.

Plucking a Senator from a red state with R governor, is safer than taking sitting House members out. Need a special election to replace a House member. Don't hurt the balance of power right off of the bat.

Stephens? Good Lord. Anduril is basically the Theranos of the defense world.

Stu Scheller?? How about someone who's got a clue on building ships as opposed to a dude who went off the deep end and had a psychotic break with reality.

Chris Miller would be fine as SecDef
Would like to see Hondo Geurtz as SecNav.
