I disagree. It has never been easier to make it than today. You have a generation that is risk averse. Fortune favors the bold.

I was able to do it on my third try and started with nothing.

Government is government? But it would be more productive to draw lines. I think the federal government is to ensure the unity of state governments within reason. States can have their own sovereignty, but within limits.
Read the constitution. The states exist to LIMIT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. All power not directly allocated to the states fall on the federal government. It was supposed to be ONLY those power that the Fed gov had. But over the last 100 years, the people have given away 75% of their power.

You do know when markets are left alone that they eventually evolve into stagnant markets full of big sharks devouring any small shark of value. And the small sharks can never get market cap because the big sharks hold it all. Free markets only work in new industries. They eventually have to be regulated. The meat market is a perfect one of where the market was poisoning people for a few bucks. Pharmaceuticals is another of which researching/storing drugs is too expensive for anyone to get into.

Do you consider the legal community a new industry? I was able to create a 3mil+ business in just under 6 years. Where were the big sharks?

"Non-conservatives", as you call them, probably represent 15% of the posts on the board.

And 130% of the complaints to Staff trying to get people banned.

Yes and where does the 10th limit the states.

All social programs should be run by states. States can choose to have to hem or not.

Depends on the business. A $3+m lawn care company is BCS would be gargantuan. A $3m tech start-up would be peanuts.

As I recollect, Staff once said that (at least as of that time) just about any post critical of Trump drew multiple flags from Trump supporters.

But then, Trump supporters aren't Conservative so maybe you are correct.

The world just watched the wealthiest country in South America fall to one of the poorest most wretched ones quickly, less than two decades from the 90s to 2000's, after a socialist coup d'etat. Yet people still vote for today's democrats.
Actually Argentina (rather than Venezuela) (and definitely not Brazil) is IMO the Latin American country that Americans should be most fixated on. They have similar natural blessings and enjoyed similar access to opportunities out of Europe, but have of course fared vastly differently. It's not clear to me what prevents 1 or 2 bad Presidents here from turning us into Argentina.

If I had a better understanding of Argentina's history and developmental issues, it'd probably shape the majority of my domestic politics.

We've had way more than 2 bad presidents in America. Nearly every democrat since 1900. It is our Constitution that kept us from becoming Venezuela. Unfortunately, democrats don't even bother following that anymore.

they imported Nazi socialists, turned socialist, and got really poor too. Democrat playbook. The people finally rejected socialist bureaucrats and elected a libertarian to try to right the ship. Fascinating to watch to see if they let it play out, but I'm afraid the CIA and former security state bureaucrats won't let Javier Milei live long enough.

Socialist policies are why the US is still a country. Without it, we'd be just as bad as most of the countries on this side of the world.

You clearly understand nothing about economics or history.

The closer to socialism a nation is the WORSE they become. The closer to free markets, the better. It's the number one factor of success.

I think this is where they claim that any shared public funding of things like defense, or police, or firehouses, courts, etc make us a de facto "socialist" country when we are talking about things like massive direct transfers of wealth for everything from welfare entitlements to sex changes for military personnel in prison to funding people to drop a crucifix in a jar of urine and call it art, etc.

As threads go on their true colors always come out. From moderate to socialist in the blink of an eye. Funny how numerous people spotted it from the beginning, yet we have a thread critical of people "piling on" when "liberals or moderates" come here with their easy to spot fallacies.

My wife recently returned from a summer abroad program in Argentina. She said the thing that struck her most when talking with locals is that most were eager to talk politics, and American politics in particular. There isn't the social taboo of talking politics like here.

One of the things locals conveyed is that they are innately different from us in terms of how they consider voting. The locals stated they vote for the well-being of the country as a whole rather than what might benefit themselves most. They referred to themselves as a "collective" society as opposed to individualism in America

Medicaid isn't great. If you mean Medicare that's fine and your opinion. Medicaid encourages freeloading and more kids. It also is screwing over states.

Then disappears when ask to expand on the details.

Its clear he didnt want to talk abut Cuba and why they still drive ancient US cars and have had little to no GDP improvement in 60 years.

Didn't want to talk about Venezuela and how it once had one of the strongest economies in Latin America until it went full socialist ******. Now it exports people trying to get out of the rubble.

Didnt even want to talk about how all Canadian provinces with the exception of Alberta have per capitia GPD less than the state of Alabama. Ontario is roughly even. The rest not even close.

All issues, as he puts it, on this side of the world.

And we can just continue to print money merely to pay the interest on our debt forever while these fall exponentially farther into a hole so deep the only way out is default.

Again, showing your colors. Financial literacy = does not exist. Support of socialistic structures that have cratered us into debt with literally no ability to ever even slow down the depth of the hole. You don't have to say any more words. You have shown exactly what you believe in, and it isn't even close to moderate.

That is not details. Anyone can have compassion. Socialism is the CAUSE of poverty. A zillion example. several I posted above.

Compassion without a brain and a total lack of understanding cause and effect-- create a socialist.
