I do sometimes see why certain people prefer that others not read what's actually in the constitution.
Then post snippets from the constitution that solidify your positions.

I am glad that DeSantis is an ally of Texas. I've been hard on Abbott and didn't vote for him in the last Republican primary,(voted for him in the general) but if he holds his ground on this I will have a new found respect for him.

Desantis is more useful to the future of the nation right where he is now. He, along with Abbott, can set the course for the nation in a way he may not be able to even as President.

This is that big of an issue. In fact, I would venture to say it's THE biggest issue the nation has experienced since WWII. We either stop it or we don't have a nation, end of story.

If what is going o is really an invasion, Abbott has given them "aid and comfort" in the form of free transportation to other states to spread the invasion. That's treason and he should be out to death. At least that's what the constitution says for those who care to read it.
Then I guess you think Biden is also guilty of this? Since the feds have been doing the same thing?

So in today's news, a weak and politically-ineffective man whose last name starts with B is President while one or more southern states are challenging federal authority and asserting various bases allowing them to act independently.

I recall reading something about this before.

Abbott just raised the ante:

This is quickly evolving into the biggest constitutional crisis in our lifetime.
Paxton isn't using Abbott's argument in the court filings though.

Nah, roast Biden over it until he loses. If he somehow succeeds, impeach. Let Republicans run on a remove/impeach Biden initiative because even the deepest blue liberals are hating having to deal with an open border and the illegals when they use to pretend to be a sanctuary city

On the thread (there are probably a bunch more) Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Montana and one of the Dakotas. You'll see a significant number come out over the next 48 hours and Abbott will probably be on the phone and the Rep Governors Association will probably whip on it. House will be on board but McConnell and his cronies won't.

Well I'll be...Stacey Abrams' little lapdog decided to join in.

I'm surprised he didn't first ask permission from Fulton County.

The more states aligned with the effort, however, the better.

Abbott has the Feds over a barrel right now. If the Feds the anything apparently a whole lot of the military will immediately defect.

Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 starts off with:

Quote:

No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, . . .

why has on one on congress proposed a bills consenting to what Texas is doing? the do-nothings continue to do nothing.

I mean they could but it won't pass. So the better option at this point is to remember that the States have this authority to bypass the Federal Government entirely and it is clearly stated in the Constitution.

If immigration is such a big deal, why did Republicans just kill a comprehensive bill?
