Sad thing is this was totally avoidable if McCarthy had simply abided by the deal he made that won him the speakership.

He could have been the hero, but instead he chose poorly.

Dude got ousted for working with the senate. And people wonder why Ds win elections. Rs cant get out of their own way.
"solving the budget", how would that happen with the Democrat Senate and Whitehouse? You do know how the process works right?
It's called working across the aisle when one party does not control all three branches...

Hell McCarthy already did that in June.

I endorse bipartisanship.

Yes. The office is vacant.
Great job Gaetz.

Now let's see if the GOP will unite behind a conservative that sticks to their platform and promises or if they make excuses for not having everyone aligned in furthering their establishment track record. If the GOP devolves into chaos and the D's come out ahead, then the GOP proved they were establishment hacks and Gaetz was right.
When whoever it is (likely selected by the Democrats), you'll be whining about that and blaming everyone but Gaetz and his band of kamikazes.
False. You clearly do not know my positions on the GOP. I want the GOP to advocate conservative policy and am willing to risk losing votes in the short term if it means getting the establishment types out of power.

You ignore the reality that winning said battle now means increasing the odds of losing the war later.

I demand better for the GOP. Most "conservatives" just demand the GOP get along with D's and take baby steps to the right while the D's take leaps to the left.

Which does not work, we already have that and spending continues to increase every year since 2008 like crazy. Any other bright ideas?

So you think Democrats will cut spending to balance the budget? LOL now I know your trolling, nice try.

How can you be the hero when you only have 1 of 3 senate, house, WH?

Rs would lose the house with a long shutdown. but Rs can't seem to figure that out.

So now you have more infighting and guess what that means more lost seats.

Going to be really stupid when a Dem becomes Speaker.

The Republican Party under Trump has become about the show and not about winning. In it for the clicks.

I'm just making sure people know that the reason we have McCarthy is Trump and thus this is a Trump v DeSantis issue. DeSantis has never supported McCarthy going back to his days in the House when he was fighting with McCarthy and Ryan.

You seem to be trying to make this argument that you support DeSantis but this isn't about Trump and somehow people that support DeSantis are in the wrong for bringing it up. As a DeSantis supporter you also bring up every negative poll you can find on DeSantis and talk about how hopeless everything is for him often. You agreeing with DeSantis here is one of the few times I have seen you post positively about DeSantis but even then you are making sure to point out this has nothing to do with him and Trump even though their opinions are on opposite sides.

To me I see Trump as a big source of these problems because he endorsed folks like Romney, McDaniel, Graham, McCarthy, and Ryan and his only real concern isn't about their performance but what they say about him personally. DeSantis is all about policy and results. Yet it seems most people can't see that contrast and I think it is important to point it out to them over and over until hopefully they open their eyes.
no, this is 100% solely all about gaetz and his play for relevancy.
Gaetz is controlled by Trump. This is all a game to play both sides.
That's a very bold comment passed along as fact...please back this up with evidence...

McCarthy was endorsed by Trump, and McCarthy speaks glowingly of the former POTUS...
Have you ever actually listened to Gaetz? I mean the guy practically lives at MAL and wears MAGA hats everywhere he goes while worshiping the ground Trump walks on. If you think he is going against Trump here without being told to do so I don't know what to tell you. Trump's entire strategy is playing both sides and muddying the water so he can be a RINO and get conservatives to think he is on their side. I mean he has done this over and over again on legislation.

There is a 0.0% chance if Trump publicly called out Gaetz and told him to stop that he would not, hell even privately. They are trying to play people. I mean if you had Chip Roy and DeSantis on opposite ends of this issue it would be the same thing but they don't do stuff like this.

Bipartisanship is the reason we have 30+ trillion in debt, only a fool would believe other wise. It does not work, but bipartisanship did give us things like the Patriot Act and a monstrous DHS.

Then let's see that happen...and I will change my tune...

Right now, a limp-wristed RINO who cut a bunch of deals to get elected Speaker after 15 votes failed to live up to his end of the deal, and now he's out... I don't give a damn who supports whom at this point...

He made a deal, and then caved...he's been fired...

And he should have been...I agree with Ron DeSantis...McCarthy never should've been the guy to begin with...

Yep, but the Gaetzites will blame everyone else for it.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

But it's the 200 Rs who are RINOs and the other 10 voting with the Dems are the true conservatives.

The hand ringing over bipartinship and losing votes is just slowing down the inevitable. Dems aren't keeping their word anyway so why should Reps work with them. They have shown time and time again to do crazy things to get their way, see fire alarm pull, ect.

Some of us are tired of trying to keep this thing running when half the country doesn't care. Let the Dems get a super majority in the House and Senate and they can pass whatever crazy **** they want. Then voters may actually see Dem policy doesn't improve their lives; just makes it worse and we can finally start over once it all falls in under the weight of dumb Democratic policy.

Country is too far gone for compromise. How do you compromise with Marxists? Time to rip the band aid off as Gaetz said. 33,000,000,000,000 is the end of the line. Compromising with leftists on the border is no longer an option. You don't compromise with criminals in elected office. You put your foot down and say that's it. We will go no further.
