So if you want to argue, you've got to give me something to argue about.
You distorted facts to make the events seem similar so that you could group them together to make an absured and illogical argument.
It's call conflating...
Its called comparing similar circumstances from their point of view and everything Stat Monitor posted is factually correct.

I know facts and comparisons are hard for some and they like to chicken out with claims of strawmen and whataboutism, but the political persecution of Trump is on full display and its likely to turn into physical persecution.

Trump has suffered more persecution than Jesus and its not even close.

Trump may just be the most entitled snowflake in history.

If Trump came to your birthday party and didn't get to blow out the candles on your cake and open your presents, he would likely view himself as the victim.

You can take me serious or not. I stand by what I said. Jesus had loyal men around him for the most part where Trump has handed a stack of Judas's. Bible is pretty good indication the "press corp" was kind to him.

Jesus has him beat with what happened at the end, but we do not know Trump's ending yet.

So, think I am not serious if you want. But if you objectively look at the last 7 years, Trump has absorbed more persecution, some earned most of it not, from every single angle save his immediate family.

Hawg, what is your take on the DOJ getting to be willy nilly with the venues for Hunter BIden (first DE, now somewhere else) versus Trump in M-A-L (first in Florida but with another grand jury in NJ, not to mention that if the crime occurred at noon on Jan 21, 2021 as Smith has alleged then the crime would have occurred in DC, no?)?

Seems judge / venue shopping is something Garland and friends are keen to do.

Pence role in Trump indictment sparks fresh tensions in 2024 race
Story by Marianne LeVine, Josh Dawsey, Michael Scherer 8h ago
Jordan Gale for The Washington Post

Former vice president Mike Pence's extensive grand jury testimony, a historic rebuke of a former president detailed in the sweeping indictment of Donald Trump released this week, sparked new tensions in the Republican presidential race, with the once-loyal Pence sharpening his criticism of his former running mate and drawing stern blowback in his long-shot bid.

The day after the Justice Department released the 45-page indictment that detailed Trump's unsuccessful efforts to pressure Pence to reverse his 2020 loss, Pence told reporters in Indiana that the former president was "surrounded by a group of crackpot lawyers that kept telling him what his itching ears wanted to hear."

Shortly after the indictment was released Tuesday, the former vice president who was referenced repeatedly in the charging document issued a statement saying that Trump had put himself over the Constitution and that his rival's "candidacy means more talk about January 6th and more distractions."

Trump, after taking a comparatively softer tone about Pence at a rally over the weekend, criticized Pence on his Truth Social website Wednesday, noting the former vice president's struggles to gain traction in the race. "I feel badly for Mike Pence, who is attracting no crowds, enthusiasm, or loyalty from people who, as a member of the Trump Administration, should be loving him," he wrote.

The exchange marked the latest chapter in a remarkable fissure between the two men, whose political trajectories have diverted sharply since Jan. 6, 2021, when a pro-Trump mob violently stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to interrupt the certification of the 2020 presidential election, over which Pence presided. Until that day, Pence had largely been a loyal backer of Trump.

I cannot tell if you are parroting a bad Madonna song with "I remember" or just rambling somewhat incoherent regarding Trump and Pence.

Pence cheering on the political persecution of Trump by a sitting POTUS who has weaponized the DOJ against their political enemies is an automatic disqualifier for Pence. What a shameful man. Lump him in with Barr and other spineless traitors whose TDS seems to be amplified by what can only be jealousy of Trump and his accomplishments.
Pence and Barr correctly chose the constitution over a fascist failed dictator.
Precisely.

TBH, I haven't quite seen this switcheroo scenario with dueling grand juries in different jurisdictions on the same subject matter. Venue is a core right of due process but it can also be a lawfare weapon with flanking maneuvers. Like what they did to Manafort, indictments in both DC and Eastern District of Virginia. Why? Because they could.

If the goal is to attack Trump on various fronts is to bleed him dry?

And you are correct about the dates and the timelines between the various suits originally struck me as more sloppy than anything because I couldn't see the strategy. Still cannot fully grasp how the narrative will be developed between the disparate suits. Because, if there was an overarching narrative here, we would be hearing it nonstop by now.

Maybe it will come to me when I read whatever Fanni comes up with in Georgia. How they will tie it all together.

Until then, stay tuned..

Well the work of Team Mueller I often called half-assed and basically unprofessional. Long on factual allegations, light on the law.

I have already posted about my questions on the potential Georgia charges as they may apply to Coffee County GA. And if that "computer trespass" is part of that, my assessment is that house of cards will fall and quickly.

OTOH if the state RICO charges loop in the DC and Florida indictments as part of a laeger and much longer conspiracy? Will take some creative connecting of the dots, even more creative than my own because I can't get there...yet.

The Southern District of Florida is probably the only appropriate venue for the "classified documents indictment."

Counts 32-39 all occurred exclusively in Florida. The other counts are for illegally retaining the documents, which even to the extent that began in D.C. for any particular document, occurred substantially and for over a year in Florida.

If they had not filed that indictment in Florida, Trump's lawyers would have challenged that immediately and I think would have won, and had it removed to the Southern District of Florida.

In sum, every alleged crime in the indictment occurred exclusively or substantially in the Southern District of Florida. Article III of the Constitution says criminal trials must occur in the state where the alleged crime was committed. These charges really needed to be brought in Florida. They were brought in Florida.

Indictment says the crimes started on Jan 21, 2021 at noon. Pretty sure Trump was in DC but maybe he was already at M-A-L moving boxes at that point.

The alleged retention ran from January 21, 2021 to May or August, 2022, depending on the document. Even if they started in D.C., the bulk of that time seems to have been in Florida. The documents were found in Florida, and their retention is directly connected to all the alleged obstruction, conspiracy, etc. to prevent the return of the documents and further the retention of the documents which all occurred in Florida (the moving the boxes, the deleting security footage, all that stuff claimed in the indictment).

They theoretically could have brought retention charges in D.C. for any document they can prove was retained in Washington D.C. at some point after noon, January 21, but (1) they might not know when any particular document left D.C.; (2) would have to prove they were "knowingly" retained at that point; (3) they would have to bring the rest of the charges in Florida, anyways.

This particular indictment needed to be brought in Florida. DOJ didn't really have much of a choice, if any choice.

They could have realized this was a massive overreach and made the choice to NOT bring an indictment in the first place...

From that statement of the judge's, wouldn't it be prudent for her to recuse? Or if she didn't, would that be something that could be brought up in appeal should he lose in trial?

Yes, she is hardly able to demonstrate impartiality, but given her pre-trial rulings/decisions and suspension of normal process according to local rules in favor of 'getting him' she probably doesn't care about such perception, or the appeal process.

She has a verdict and an outcome in her mind and will get there, as soon as possible.

She is the embodiment of why one should never, ever vote for a Democrat, and always seek to defeat them in general elections. These political prosecutions by Democrats are disgusting, at best.

to me, any appearance of a bias should be enough to recuse, so she should do so on her own without a motion being filed.

but its an abuse of discretion standard, so what the judge has said so far likely isn't going to be enough to win an appeal on a denial of a recusal motion. they would not have to wait until after trial to appeal by the way. they could immediately seek mandamus relief from appellate court

Just remember, the crazy chick is from the investigation grand jury, not the one sitting now that the DA is using to bring the charges.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival.
