It's just a reflection of the UFA being out of manpower, imho. They've beens ending drone, medic and ADA operators to the front lines for a month, I imagine their repair/maintenance/depot type folks are paper thin.

Sitrep: Trump's arrival and the war.
Quote:

Europe in particular is in utter shambles as their sunk-cost failure in Ukraine has exposed feeble European leaders as true naked emperors before their seething populaces. Germany continues to completely unspool before our eyes as France's Macron issued a temp-gauging panic statement about the need for Europe to become 'omnivores' in a world full of 'carnivores', lest the decaying continent get left behind for good.

In short, Europe is flailing as it sinks below the tides of historyMacron here belatedly essays to deploy the life raft to no avail. Europe has subordinated itself to the US in such a way as to become mere abject pawns, with no sovereignty of their own, their leaders disposable factotums to be rearranged at whim on the board by the real power players. Macron scrabbles desperately to cling to the status quo, but the train has gone.

Just disgraceful 'leaders.' Anyway, more at the link, mostly with blind speculation as to Trump's plans but we won't know this one until he is sworn in, imho, as he will get into another impeachment saga if he actually attempts to conduct foreign policy while still a private citizen.

In other news from the doomed people of Ukraine:
Quote:

Quote:

"UKRAINE FAILS TO MEET MOBILIZATION PLAN FOR 2024": - MP of the Ukrainian Defense Committee, Solomiya Bobrovskaya (speaking). We are not fulfilling the plan for this year, nor for the month that was set.

We are returning to the situation of spring 2024 - she says. What Ukraine calls mobilization, other countries may call kidnapping of all men. As such, it is running out of men & looking to lower the mobilization age to 18 (from current 25, and before that 27.) So far, Zelensky said he would not do that. But he also got voted in on a campaign of peace, promising to end the civil conflict in Donbass
A Ukrainian officer says losses in retreat are nearly as high as on attackconfirming a much discussed talking point amongst our analyst community.
Quote:

"The trend is clear. Almost no one wants to join the infantry. The death rate is too high... There is no trust in the military leadership. Just in fact. We're retreating. And the army loses as many people in retreat as the army loses in the offensive."
The same officer later says "it's time to start digging fortifications in Kiev".
Sad what Nuland has wrought.

Hopefully Georgians can withstand the onslaught the Ukrainians could not;

WaPo made up some story about a Trump Putin call (Trump knows any such talk will/would be monitored, no point in having one), and little green turd's minions are whining about being blown off:

Sitrep:

The United States is considering holding parliamentary and presidential elections in Ukraine in 2025, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported.

The creation of a new pro-American party is being discussed among US-funded Ukrainian activists. The nomination of candidates for the elections will be carried out in agreement with the State Department.
This is precisely what we've been predicting here since last year: that once Zelensky begins to act recalcitrant against ending the war, Washington would have no choice but to begin drumming up 'democratic' Ukrainian elections in order to install a new more popular leader, amenable to Washington's demands. To manufacture victory for this leader would be as easy for Washington as any other routine coup, since all media organs are owned by the West. Zaluzhny would be the obvious choice particularly since I reported several articles ago how he had recently hinted he's no longer concerned about regaining all Ukrainian territory, which is likely his way of signaling to the West that he's the man for the hatchet job.
No one thinking about this in the State Dept right now will really matter by the end of January, so whatever. Glad they are finally thinking about these obvious steps, though.

Pfft:

After years of telling us Ukraine can't hold elections because occupied territory cannot vote, the second the current leadership becomes inconvenient they will suddenly be able to hold elections. The corruption is so obvious its gross.

DNI will probably have issues with the conduct of this proxy war, and our Ukrainian 'allies.'

Another sitrep on saint Z's pending departure timetable today:

I think he still owns that Tuscan winery/estate and will likely retire there. And after all, maybe he's being fed the equivalent of MSNBC/CNN fake news about the war this whole time:
Quote:

Not only did Economist now roll out some "internal polling" that seemingly didn't exist before, but the big kicker is the predictable insertion of Zaluzhny as new heir to the throne. That's not to mention the suggestive lay out of their preferred outcome:
Quote:

But a former colleague of the president says his best move might be to step asideregardless, and keep to his original promise only to serve one term. "Zelensky has only one way out to get out with an intact reputation," this source says. "That is to run elections [without him] and go down in history as the man who united the nation in war." The alternative is to risk being associated with a military collapse or an incomplete peace.
Ah, so a 'dignified bow out' just like the same establishment forces asked of Zelensky's fateful partner-in-crime Joe Biden. Remember, it's either the "easy way" or the "hard way", as Pelosi said; the same stands for Zelensky. Take your free trip to Tel Aviv or we can begin raising the level of 'encouragement'. After all, recall Zaluzhny was directed to step down from his role as general for a long time, and it was only after his direct subordinates began to be assassinated did he heed the warning and do as he was told.
The other excerpt from the article which went viral today was the following:
Quote:

The army is censoring the most negative news to avoid fanning flames back home, he says. A senior military official agrees. Even Mr Zelensky is being shielded from the truth. "It's not even that he's being kept in a warm bath," the source says, using a local idiom to suggest the president was being cocooned by his top officials. "He's being kept in a sauna."
Well, now, would you look at that? So maybe when Zelensky spouts off those ridiculous numbers about Russian losses, he's not exactly the most trustworthy source? As preposterous as it may sound, given the above, it may even be the case that Zelensky actually believes the figures that only 30,000 or so AFU troops have died. He could very well think he's winning the war based on his info-cocoon; scary thought.

The chart could start at any point in time and the meaning of the graph would not change. The rate of Russian gains is increasing as of late. One "tiny village" per month has become one "tiny village" per week. That increase is true of whatever adjective you want to use to describe their gains. Ukraine can't seem to stop the advance. Its moving inch by inch exactly like we told you it would. Before you ask "Why can't Russia take a gajillion per day" or whatever, answer why Ukraine can't stop it.

The Russian army has generally been among the best paid, so some of this is unsurprising really.

Much is made of the NoKo troops in some quarters of the internet but I still don't see any real significance. It's just spin/PR on their side. It appears they have no problem continuing to recruit/replace and grow their total armed forces strength both within the theater and outside.

I haven't followed any of the Ukraine news for these past few years. As soon as it started, I decided it had all the feel of the same disastrous realpolitik ****e we've watched for decades. So there's no point in getting intellectually or politically exercised about it. The chess match among the globalist power class will proceed, millions of humans will suffer for it, and then enough pawns will be depleted in that area for the power class to turn their efforts to another location where they've got more pawns to activate.

As I have read just a little bit about it in the past few days, it felt a bit familiar, and then I realized what it reminded me of -- the CIA and other deep state factions using an otherwise unimportant regional power to draw in, distract, and drain Russian resources... Hmm.. sounds Qaeda familiar, doesn't it?

Yeah, you are pretty much on-target, imho. And note, even Saint Zelensky, freedom fighter extraordinaire says that with the adults in charge again in the US (or rather, the globalist/neocon/WEF folks out of power), he expects the war to end sooner now.

Though of course he is positioning himself as some sort of 'strong man:'

A return of 'normal' Russian trade and energy flows is essential for Europe's economy:

I've paid attention to the war because I think the orchestrated loss of lives is maddening, especially when we have had leadership that simply didn't even care about our own borders/sovereignty. Again, the beneficiaries are the oligarchs of Russia/China, and the money laundering/politicians/military intelligence complex in the US who play their games. It's just gross.

Champions of fascist Kiev forever-war hawks are ecstatic about striking into Russia further with ATACMS (which have been a non-factor for over a year) but meanwhile more decapitating strikes on Ukraine's energy grid are the actual significant military event happening this past week.
Quote:

Bloomberg reports that generation at Ukrainian nuclear facilities was cut back by 40-90%, with only 2 out of 9 total reactors operating at full power:
Quote:

It was said that the major energy terminal in Mukachevo, far western Ukraine, was hit, which couples and transmits European energy to Ukraine. Needless to say, if the hit was effective, it could in large part cut Ukraine off from emergency power transmission from Europe:

Alex Soros, forever-war champion extraordinaire, and opponent of free speech globally, is super excited though!

Quote:

Quote:

The wording in the message, such as "close to adoption," "if approved," and "if received," emphasizes the uncertainty of the situation, without confirming direct permission from the US president.
In the NYT article above, they seem to imply the strikes could be limited to just a narrow band of Kursk, where the purported "North Korean troops" may be active.
Quote:

The weapons are likely to be initially employed against Russian and North Korean troops in defense of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region of western Russia, the officials said.
There's a lot of things to say about this development.

Firstly: ATACMS have already disappeared from the battlefield, the last usage being recorded something like months ago.

Second: HIMARS have already been used all over Kursk, including on a Russian column some months ago. Both regular HIMARS missiles and ATACMS are fired from the same truckso this new 'authorization' strikes as a little strange. Though the NYT article addresses this:
Quote:

To help the Ukrainians defend Kharkiv, Mr. Biden allowed them to use the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or HIMARS, which have a range of about 50 miles, against Russian forces directly across the border. But Mr. Biden did not allow the Ukrainians to use longer-range ATACMS, which have a range of about 190 miles, in defense of Kharkiv.

In other words, more laughable X/bluesky PR.

Forever war, comrades.

Super exciting. That ammo depot from NE of Kiev was definitely worth it. I'm sure UFA will be rolling into Sevastopol any minute now. Devastating. Maybe Putin will be toppled. And more 'maidan' revolutions will bring Americans peace and stability in the world. It's all coming together.

I think this is the primary imagery that has folks wondering if it was an inert warhead(s) test just to see if UFA AD even reacted.

I'm not an ICBM expert so I really don't have an idea on that but it would seem to me if MIRV's were used from a single missile they wouldn't be spaced out as such (in time), even if targeting basically the same point. Maybe not, I know artillery can be fired consecutively from the same tube and land at the same time based on different charges/trajectory etc.

Kremlinologists surely appreciate this theater:

Yay, war! Escalation is fine, Putin's red lines don't matter and are all talk. Biden and the green goblin have got this.

I'm not even sure the ammo depot strike was ATACMS. It might have been just drones and storm shadows.

Meanwhile:

And this is dismissed as 'well, these probably all just don't work and they'd never use them anyway.'

The mental gymnastics about thinking this risk is 'worth it' with a demented POTUS over the last 2 months of his reign of errors are mind-numbing.

War isn't a linear series of predictable steps and fights, ever. That's just a historical truth. And even if you think/assume we have the best weapons and leaders on our side, most great armies/generals in history wind up eventually utterly defeated and disillusioned, whether talking about Hannibal, RE Lee, Rommel, Napoleon, you name it.

From AMK Mapping:
Quote:

Just a general reminder to all the Pro-Ukrainians out there: wanting peace and not wanting Ukraine to be destroyed is MORE pro Ukrainian than wanting them to keep fighting forever and have their country ruined even more than it already is.

I'm genuinely convinced that many "pro Ukrainians" don't give a $%%% about Ukraine, and only care about it so they can have something to cheerlead, and have an online community to belong to.

I keep seeing people cheerleading for Ukraine to obtain nuclear weapons. Like seriously, do you not realise what would happen if Ukraine was to obtain nukes? Look what happened when Ukraine "struck back". An ICBM/IRBM was launched at Dnipro.

Escalation is not the way.
Forever war.

There were also significant human rights issues involving Ukrainian government officials, although not comparable to the scope of Russia's abuses, which included credible reports of: enforced disappearance; torture and cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment; harsh and life-threatening prison conditions; arbitrary arrest or detention; serious problems with the independence of the judiciary; restrictions on freedom of expression, including for members of the media, including violence or threats of violence against journalists, unjustified arrests or prosecutions of journalists, and censorship; serious restrictions on internet freedom; substantial interference with the freedoms of peaceful assembly and association; restrictions on freedom of movement; serious government corruption; extensive gender-based violence; systematic restrictions on workers' freedom of association; and the existence of the worst forms of child labor. Some of these human rights issues stemmed from martial law, which continued to curtail democratic freedoms, including freedom of movement, freedom of the press, freedom of peaceful assembly, and legal protections.

The government often did not take adequate steps to identify and punish officials who may have committed abuses.
