Going to be a long summer as Russia pushes and then when the 61 billion does not magically restore Ukraines manpower out of thin air we will hear the calls start asking for more.

Russia won't have the ability to push against superior weaponry. It's no longer 1943. Wars are won with weapons, not superior manpower.

Lots of predictions, we will see. Men take and hold ground, not weapons.

Men with superior weapons hold ground. War has changed.

Not really

Additionally, manpower shortages are stretching the lines thin. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law Tuesday that is aimed at overhauling mobilization rules, effectively making it possible to bring even older troops into a war already being fought by soldiers with an average age over 40.

Ukraine proudly used a cruise missile to strike at a 100-year old salvage ship in port.

Good summary from Mike:

The "good guys" people/Democrats are excited to arm;

I do wonder if saint Zelensky the beautiful has cut down on his take:

RCP: Administration should be honest (LOL) with Kiev.

Quote:

While complex and advanced systems like tanks, armored personnel carriers, and sophisticated anti-air weapons are important for Ukraine's ability to fight back, the United States is struggling just to produce enough of the relatively simple artillery ammunition that Kyiv relies on to push back Russian front lines. In early 2023, American factories were producing just over 3,000 155mm artillery shells a month. As Ukraine's needs became more apparent, factories surged production working overtime to up production to 28,000 a month, or 336,000 a year. Ukraine fired 6,000 shells a day during its counteroffensive, and could need over 2,100,000 shells a year to maintain the kind of high intensity effort that failed to push back Russian forces last year. These hard realities lead many to question the feasibility of Ukraine retaking the rest of their territory from Russia.

It remains unlikely that lawmakers will pass another multi-billion dollar package filled with advanced weapon systems and an open-ended resupply of munitions. Going into an election year, lawmakers are more likely to back significantly smaller support focused on providing the material and construction supplies for hardening Ukraine's front lines. The White House could help Kyiv weather further Russian offensives and reduce the risk of losing further territory by encouraging Ukraine to build more lines of fortified positions, digging trenches, laying minefields, and placing "dragon's teeth" tank traps. The resources needed for this approach are substantially more affordable and easier to source and most importantly, they're far more realistic than further tranches of expensive military hardware.

While Ukraine has professed a desire to expel all Russian forces and return to its pre-2014 borders, the success of this approach appears increasingly unlikely as Russia taps into vast resources and a significant population for a long war. Ukraine is already struggling to find fighting age men to rotate troops and continue its efforts. As unpleasant as it may be, Kyiv must begin considering what negotiations with its aggressor could look like, and what could be acceptable and realistic terms for a ceasefire. Though any pause in fighting would give Moscow the opportunity to resupply and prepare for further fighting, the same is true for Kyiv and its partners in Europe that are still supplying arms.
That ain't gonna happen.

Supposedly the 117th Mechanized brigade (UFA) just gave up its positions/left (or 67th?), allowing a large Russian advance, around Ocheretyne.

I didn't catch this surrender of a US Air base to Russians yesterday in all the celebrations about crushing Russia with the "aid" bill to prolong the proxy war against Russia:

And Chad:

I think this comparison is a misnomer as American aid for instance is providing much higher cost items (on a unit basis) than what Russia is producing:

It always tough talk from that poster. Never mind Uke actively losing ground. The best is when he says the lines are frozen and Russia advances/takes a new town in the very next update. "All hat no cattle" comes to mind.

I said Russia was incapable of an offensive and was proven correct with their ineptitude these past four months. A few miles and a handful of small towns is no better than what Ukraine did last summer. And with aid Russia's window has closed. The very aid package you routinely mocked me for by asking when it would come…

You just redefine words to mean something they don't. its the tell tale sign you're lying. "Russia can't mount an offensive. I was proven correct when they gained ground"

Sorry, no you weren't. Continuing to repeat your lies into your next ban wont change the facts.

Once senate approves this aid will be in Ukraine within days. And of course the article quotes the gnashing of teeth and tantrums by the Russians. With good reason. They know what's coming.

In the next few weeks you'll begin to see the usual Russian state supported media types begin the "this aid won't matter" narrative in a heeping helping of copiium. Just wait.

This is a funny meme, because it is so true. But isn't it strange how Uke can repeat "Russia has no ability to mount an offensive" while admitting they've been gaining ground and also declaring "America is next if we don't stop them now"

The conflicting narrative is the plain-on-its-face proof they are lying. No one cared about the most corrupt country in Europe until CNN told them to.

So much for the 'tide being turned' by the 'big' aid package.

Maybe some 'advisors' under Xiden's command can be airlifted from Niger/Chad.

The money wont matter. Kick backs to the politicians, kick backs to the defense contractors, Zelenskyy's new car and apartment. Plus the 10% to the big guy. Mean while Russia is selling oil to Iran, who's selling it to Saudi Arabia, who's selling it to us. At least I saved 15% by switching to GEICO.

And yet the bulk of Russians Army is still sitting on the sideline. You would think with almost 100 billion sent to Ukraine. Those people would find away to defeat Russia. Or at least bribe Russia to leave the area.

Generally, when you start a war, you spend the first 2+ years using the back end of your bench. The starters are getting warmed up now and are ready to go.
