it's going to be an even worse defeat when young Gavin Newsome ("oh he is so cute" says the blue haired karens) at age 48

goes up against age 78 fat Trump.

almost every voting public, ESPECIALLY youthful Americans goes for the "new" and the "hip" over the old and the has beens. especially in politics when voters want to look forward rather than backwards.

Clinton over Bush
Clinton over Dole
Obama over McCain
Obama over Romney
Bush over Gore
Kennedy over Nixon

that is something every media and marketing grad in the USA has known for decades now.

You guys may say the democrats cheated to win the 2020 election, but I maintain if Trump would have just kept his damn mouth closed during the debates with Biden, he would be president today.

And that is his biggest flaw.

DeSantis '24.

DeSantis will forever be a better choice than Trump.

That said, the legions of morons Trump commands (when a clearly better option is right in their faces, DeSantis) will be too much. DeSantis knows this. Wont run. Democrats will win POTUS again.

He probably would have been POTUS but for Covid (and I don't mean anything to do with the election).

My mantra for the next 18 mos.:

I voted for Trump twice
I'll do it again if I have to
I'd rather not have to
The problem with people that don't get it is they don't get that they don't get it.

I disagree. Trump has a ceiling of 40% of the GOP primary base being "Always Trumpers"

there is 60% available if Ron actually campaigns hard for it.

keep in mind that New Hampshire was trending DeSantis months ago, and Trump battled Cruz in Iowa. Nicki Haley might jump for Ron and help with South Carolina, and of course RSD is going to win Florida.

I do not disagree there, but even so, if he would have let Biden continue to step in it in the only times the public actually saw him, it would have gone much better for him.

If Trump wins the primary, he'll certainly get my vote.
But DeSantis is not Biden... Trump will be completely expoed to look like the pompous ass he is if he debates RDS in the same way he did candidates in 2016. While I'm a Cruz guy, based on policy alone, Ted isn't nearly as likable or charismatic as RDS... attacking him will not bode well for Trump IMHO.
