Tesla currently makes four models of vehicles. All four are in the Top 10 of most American made vehicles, with the 3 and Y taking the top 2 spots. Tesla is quite literally making America great again.

Quote:

Cars.com's American-Made Index returns to rank all qualifying vehicles built and bought in the U.S. for the third time in its 17-year history. The 2022 study follows the same guidelines as in 2020 and 2021, ranking 95 vehicles through the same five criteria: assembly location, parts content, engine origins, transmission origins and U.S. manufacturing workforce.

Topping the 2022 index is Tesla, which not only retains its No. 1 overall ranking thanks to the Model Y, but furthers its presence on the list with all four vehicles of its current lineup placing in the top 10. The Model 3 drops one spot from 2021 to No. 2, the Model X comes in at No. 5, and the Model S follows at No. 6.

Where does Tesla get the Lithium for the batteries?

Where does Tesla get the batteries?!

Where does Tesla get the electricity necessary to charge the batteries that come from China and build with Chinese Lithium that it gets from Afghanistan and other countries where it strip mines them?!
you won't get an answer on that.

Just like when you ask what power source is charging up all these batteries.

Bingo. Will definitely at least look at them for next vehicle if the prices are coming anything like in range, and the means to "refuel" are sprouting up enough.

Tech has improved, yet same issues from even before ICE vehicles. Range and infrastructure

Range is suitable for almost 80% of drivers. It's a non-issue for most people.

Explains why all current EVs, and all sold future orders, account for almost....ALMOST....1% of road worthy cars.

Yes, now we destroy the environment mining the newer minerals for these batteries.

I'd rather not give the CCP (which has 95% control over current rare earth processing technology) control over our transportation needs.
If the left were serious about energy independence they would not be so obstructive on building the production and transmission network needed for any of this to work. As it is the whole "green" movement is not so much worried about climate but is rather anti-human in their approach to the issue. Getting in deeper entanglement with a genocidal CCP is frankly drool on your shirt "Ow My Balls" stupid.

As production ramps up so will that number. You know it and I know it. There's a reason Tesla's are backlogged by a year and are worth a lot more than you paid for them the second you drive them off the lot.

2011 Ford F150 supercrew. 300k miles and has been paid off for a decade. Now that I am retired I probably won't put 3000 miles a year on it.

I'm good

Seven and three are ten, not only now, but forever. There has never been a time when seven and three were not ten, nor will there ever be a time when they are not ten. Therefore, I have said that the truth of number is incorruptible and common to all who think. — St. Augustine

It will be a few years before their Chinese revenue exceeds US revenue, but the trend to get there is certainly visible.

Most of the mass of a Tesla comes from strip mines in Africa, China, and Russia, and all of the precious metals are refined in China.

Ford's new F-150 Lightening can only pull a 6,000 lb trailer 100 miles until the batteries are 100% dead. So EV's still have a ways to go.

I'm a Tesla shareholder and huge Musk fan but EV's need to improve before they are truly competitive with gasoline and diesel powered vehicles.

This is true of most new vehicles in America right now... it's called supply and demand. Any other economic lessons for us?
Teslag

Most other vehicles at least have some new inventory available. Tesla does not. Most other vehicles advertise. Tesla does not. They don't have to.

What response is necessary? It was never claimed that Teslas were 100% built in the US. They are just the most American car you can buy. For some people, that means something.
