The ol' "If I can't have it, no one can" strategy.

Unsurprising that Boeing wants to keep proprietary data close hold.

The larger obstacle to prompt Ukrainian production of Patriot missiles is the same component shortage that is holding up the needed rapid expansion of US missile production.

The missiles can be assembled anywhere, but supporting vendors are struggling to sufficiently bump up key component availability to enable greater missile production in the short to medium term.

Europe continues to step up.

"Ukraine's defense technology cluster Brave1 and NATO have launched a joint innovation program that will fund defense companies, with the first call focused on counter-drone systems against FPV and Shahed-type drones.

Funding of up to 500 million ($569.6 million) per partner is available for joint ventures between one Ukrainian firm and another from a NATO member state.

Five areas were listed by Brave1 as of high interest: active protection systems against FPVS, affordable counter-shaded systems, electromagnetic support for signals intelligence, electromagnetic attack technology against FPVs, and high-altitude platforms."

Ukraine is not deterred by the missile attack tonight.

ETA:

Quote:

Enemy drones have carried out a terrorist attack on a Wildberries warehouse. According to preliminary information, there is one injured person, and approximately 200 employees have been evacuated.

Ambulances, fire crews, and emergency services personnel arrived at the scene promptly. Open flames are visible on the warehouse grounds, and firefighters are working to extinguish the fire.

I would like to remind everyone that it is forbidden to take photos or videos of the drone attack or its aftermath, as well as of the operation of air defense systems. Do not become accomplices to the enemy. Please remain calm, and take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

So much for that warning.

The B-52 gets called out for being old, but the Russians are still flying their B-29 knockoff...
You can turn off signatures, btw

Well, maybe this is the incident hinted at a couple weeks ago of Russia testing the waters against a NATO country.

Oh I know it's not, I was joking about the similarities to a WWII bomber, though...

Major Rosneft facilities and other oil refineries in the Leningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, Volgograd, and Moscow regions were affected.

According to FT, the strikes disabled part of Russia's oil refining capacity an industry that accounts for about 12% of Russia's industrial production.

Sounds like 19 of them need to be hit again.

And again.

And one more time.

Simply posting as an update since it was widely reported, and stated by the admin, that we had indeed approved production. I believe the justification given is cheap bs, however. There's no more chance that Ukraine will "turn on us" militarily than Poland, France, England, etc.

I believe we've gone back to feeling like the easiest way to end the war is if Ukraine surrenders, in the face of Russia insisting on full victory. The easiest way to do that is to allow Russia's campaign against civilian targets to achieve full impact.

A tandem reason may well be the US defense industry's fear of lost profits once supply increases and it's demonstrated that others are able to manufacture them faster and cheaper.

Incidents of this are becoming more and more frequent as these kids get older.

If that's a concern then you don't give them to Ukraine at all. Are they currently stealing/selling them?
