This comment seems to be in reference to Cardinal Burke. Assuming this translation is correct, this pope's pettiness is unbelievable. With all the popes in my lifetime I knew with 100% certainty they were better people then me (an average Catholic), but with this one it is a coin flip.

This Pope is evil and certainly not a true Christian.

He pushes open borders (funny considering the wall surrounding the Vatican), climate change, and other far left agenda. He's just another commie elitist.

Not to mention, yet another propaganda arm for the Democratic Party..

Pope Marx I
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

He is indeed, successor to a direct line back to St Peter and Christ's establishment of the Church herself.

He has not, he is the successor of Peter and sits in his throne as high priest of all Christendom. Pontifex Maximus

I agree that he is the successor of Peter, but he did intentionally drop the title.

I'll defend the position of the Pope, but I won't defend him. We've had some bad popes in the past, and we survived them (the gates of hell didn't prevail). And we'll survive this one.

This is why the Bible warned against placing men between the common man and God. You think the popes are always gonna be good?

This guy is just straight up evil. A devout leftist.

No, it is possible for a Pope to stray off the course. Look at Honorius I and not that is before the Catholic Church is split.

TBH, he does seem to display a dangerous degree of implying God doesn't have his hand on nature and the world. His buying into the globalist take is in itself, very secular in tone. Its one of the more suspicious things about the outlook.

Let's just say actual papal history offers more than one take on what this may be. Not all are favorable or affirming while not in any way prevailing against the church.

I'm not Catholic, but there is only ONE High Priest. Jesus. Prior to Jesus there were High Priests that served between God and Man.

Peter was to function "like" a High Priest... but AFAIK, he was not A High Priest. The Pope is not the Mediator between God and Man and from what I understand there is no claim that he is.

And just like the Pharisees... we see why Jesus is the only High Priest.

As a Christian... the Pope doesn't speak for me and he does not intercede on my behalf. I have received the Holy Spirit who knows and speaks for that which I don't yet realize I need.

Romans 8:25-27

Quote:

25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because[a] the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Unless you think Paul was wrong.

You are correct, we do not believe that the Pope is a mediator between God and Man, we believe he is the Shepherd in charge of the flock in Christ's earthly absence, and safeguards the keys to the kingdom of Heaven in his role as "regent" of Christendom. Any and all of the Pope's charisms and powers are only there because they have been delegated by Christ himself.

The spirit intercedes for us, our fellow Christians intercede for us, the Saints intercede for us, I don't know why anyone would think I have an issue with St. Paul's words.

No, I do not think the Pope's are always going to be good, history teaches us that is not the case. I do believe the Pope will always be safeguarded from espousing heresy and leading the Church off the rails into damnation.

You can see the spirit at work right now, as orthodoxy has come from places it is normally not seen; i.e Cardinal Gregory in Washington DC taking President Biden to task for his statement on when life begins.

Clearly not, as there's never any threads created with people saying how much they don't care everytime the man opens his mouth.

In all the condemnations of the Pope here. It seems apparent how many here would not want to face the judgment of your peers here. I for one am glad the source of mercy will be my judge. Pope Francis gives all of us a greater reason to pray.

Yes, when I hear/read what he's saying. It's lamentable that the papacy has drawn so much attention in the modern world. It's helped to facilitate an abuse of Vatican I (PoPe SaYs (while on airplane)!!!! MuSt ObEy!!!!!).

There are no aborted fetal cells that are used in the vaccines that are approved by the Vatican. There is a lamentable truth that some of the vaccines that are now being approved were originally tested with aborted fetal cells.

However, given that the vaccines are not currently engaged in ongoing sin, they are morally permissible.

Your pope is an open commie and the Vatican is rotten to the core. Catholics of legitimate faith would be better off running this filth out of the church than looking the other way or making excuses. Protestants are facing a similar situation with wokeness infiltrating a lot of churches as well.

Christians in general need to stop being cowards and start running these commies out. We need an inquisition 2.0.
