You can't make a dog be a cat, but that is what BLM is pushing for. The most twisted thing in this whole mess is that the worst thing for black lives is the black lives matter movement. That is what disgusts many conservatives about blm. It is that there success will actually hurt good people, who happen to be black. Yes it will also hurt white, asian and hispanic people as well.

Those cops want to go home to their families as well. They had no idea if he was reaching for a gun, he had already had a knife. That dude had plenty of opportunity to deescalate and he did not. They did their job. It sucks all around I agree.

Boycotts only work if a major sacrifice is suffered by both those doing the boycotting and those suffering the boycott. If the boycotters don't suffer from the sacrifice, their protest is hollow.

The Alabama bus boycotts worked because it drew attention to those willing to sacrifice everything for their cause. The boycotters lost their jobs because they couldn't get to work. They lost their friends because they couldn't go see them. They lost time with their families for the same reason.

What are the players sacrificing? They will still get paid. The will still play the game later, and even if they don't...it doesn't matter. This boycott is hollow, and the results will be as well.

My comment was directed at his first statement, lacking an ever so important comma. Clearly that humor was lost on you.

However, I will offer an answer to your question. As most successful, responsible Adults will tell you, change starts with you. Look at yourself, ask yourself what attitude or action you exhibit is contributing to your situation. Defiant, and in this case, criminal behavior, by resisting arrest, almost always results in consequences or corrective measures. Irresponsible people are still held responsible(or should be) for their actions. This goes for everyone, including officers or other law enforcement that behave outside the parameters of their duty as well as the criminals and other protesters that cross the boundary of lawful expression of their rights.

Had this man chosen to listen to instructions given by police, who held an obvious advantage in the situation, he may have been walked into a jail cell. More importantly, he would have had the opportunity to WALK out of that jail cell.
