Kneeling during the anthem is divisive because that used to be a unifying moment for all Americans, and because it's disrespectful to the flag and country no matter how they are trying to spin it now.

This boycott is just getting a little bemused scorn and "so what" reactions. And the reason it's getting scorned is because it's yet another reactionary, manufactured controversy where the facts don't matter, just the outrage.

But the facts DO matter. And until we start basing our actions on facts not feelings, it's impossible for there to be progress or reconciliation, because feelings are irrational and change from moment to moment. Basing your reaction on feelings is what leads to widespread violence... by protesters of violence... largely against innocent people... a disproportionate number of whom are minorities themselves.

Was Doc Rivers watching the same RNC as me? I didn't see anything about fear. Maybe he's talking about the McCloskey couple or something but the rest of the speakers having been preaching fear and hate like the DNC speakers were.
