They will tell you it's so they can learn everything they can about the virus so they can prevent it, fight it going forward, and/or manipulate it to be less severe.

Considering all of the public proclamations of reducing the population by the WEF and the elites I'm just going to believe what they are telling us - they want to figure out how to weed out the population.

COVID was a great practice run...a respiratory virus that only affects the old and the obese is already dialed in pretty well.

Giving benefit of doubt, it was excessive curiosity just to see what they could do to it, hubris in thinking that they could fully control it, and poor safety procedures that released it. The subsequent fear, panic, and ignorance caused the most detrimental impact, not the actual virus. The creation of the us vs them mentality that allowed some truly disgusting behavior was the biggest negative outcome. The fact that the HermanCainAward subreddit even exists, let alone be as popular as it was, is frightening.

Is there a more "reasonable answer"?

I asked this question many times myself. Why gain of function research? Why did we ever do this, fund it, etc? If the goal was that nefarious as to create a virus, super or not, to release on humanity, obviously no one is going to admit that. And I am not ruling that at. But I have never seen what I would consider to be a reasonable answer as to why we would screw around with something so potentially destructive as gain of function research on viruses.

I think their motives were scientific, but selfish or at least recklessly self absorbed. They were trying to find ways to predict and prevent or deal effectively with a future virus outbreak. At least, the Americans and some of the Chinese researchers in actual virology for medical research were. I don't doubt that. But it was argued very strongly by a large contingent in that area of study that in the effort to research transmission risk to humans, creating the vectors and the viruses that could actually achieve that in a lab environment GREATLY increased the risk of a human to human transmissible outbreak actually occurring. The knowledge of how it might happen and how to stop it was far less significant than the actual danger that mode of research presented. They were far more likely to cause what they were allegedly trying to prevent. That sentiment prevailed…briefly. But, some selfish arrogant eggheads managed to offshore the research, then lay low until nobody was paying close attention and resume it with additional funding.

And like complete idiots, they chose a communist nation legendary for poor quality control and covering up cutting corners, at a facility in a massive urban area, and at a bio security level that was laughably inadequate given what they were handling.

There really should be a Nuremberg type international trial for those involved in setting that up.

People will slide back into pandemic protocol as easy as getting back with their ex.

So the idea the people won't stand for it this time is pie-in-the-sky.

We had a number of warnings right before covid dropped but we ignored those warnings. Event 201 is an example. The signal to noise ratio was too high.

My less skeptical side is hoping that by improving gain of function, that something good could be learned/created to actually help humanity. Could these viral characteristics be used in other ways to treat diseases and relieve suffering? Could it offer a breakthrough in cancer treatment? The worst part is that now it's political and we'll never know the whole truth.

Humans created a virus that was not naturally occurring to this earth.

At the end of the day, humanity created an an alien in the form of a highly transmissible respiratory virus.

Humans battled the virus to the tune of $14 trillion in the US alone and completely wrecked the global economy in the process.

Covid and the failed covid response was the worst human failure of all time.

Starting to agree with you as it also raised awareness on how ignorant the masses can be, even in this age of information.

This was a fun thread. I went to Thailand on vacation around end of Feb when this all started and had to come back early. That was quite the fiasco.

Is the data from this study close to being true?

A 97.2% mortality rate for persons over 65 which were put on a ventilator?

If you recall the Chinese developed the ventilator protocol for treatment of covid patients early on, and the US eagerly adopted it. There was a time in this country where people were screeching for more ventilators.

I don't see how that 97% mortality rate possible, but what do I know?

Three years later, it seems like the Chinese trolled the US into killing a bunch of our own people.

Covid might have been the greatest troll job of all time, along with the greatest failure of leadership of all time.

Also of note, you may remember threads on here, very early on, that warned people not to let their loved ones get put on a ventilator if at all possible. You had a small minority of medical people recommending a ventilator only as a last resort. Turns out they were right. So credit to those posters wherever they are.

I don't think a reasonable answer exists that would make sense of the highest paid bureaucrat in the federal government circumventing US law and outsourcing highly technical and secret research into creating a bio weapon to the government of a belligerent country with known technical limitations and massively sub-standard health and safety standards (to the point of them being a passing thought at best).

Stat, I wasn't sure where to put that. It probably deserves it's own thread, but I don't have enough confidence to know the accuracy of the speaker.

A doctor buddy of mine in Dallas sent it to me yesterday afternoon. I had to take a little time to try and verify it, when and where it was. That's why I asked some of y'all who the guy is and what his background was.

Apparently, it was from May 3rd, I believe. I haven't spoken to my old Aggie buddy who sent it, but will attempt to do so today.

Often times, the hyperbole before a video is just that, hyperbole, but in this case, and assuming it's true and correct, appears to be pretty damned accurate.

Any update? Who is that guy, and where was the speech given?
