I really do believe that the term itself corona is very sinister sounding. I realize it's a medical term for the structure of the freaking thing but nevertheless. COVID is also scary. My recollection (as an Er doc) was that after beginning in April the summer slowed it down a tad then picked back up in fall. Their concern is the massive amounts of people who might potentially need hospitalization first (overwhelming the system) and second the number of fatalities among vulnerable populations. Think elderly and homeless folks. The triage would be a nightmare for medical staff, or so I have been told by people tasked with doing it.
