I sure hope he is correct. If he is, I do not understand why China would be taking such drastic actions for a virus that is not that dangerous.
Any country quarantines anything over 1mm people and I'm taking precautions

The thing that stands out to me the most is the number of positive cases showing up abroad already.
Either:
- these are people who thought they may have been exposed and were trying to flee
- the virus was already exposed to a massive amount of people

The virus has a 1 to 2 week incubation perios. These people were likely not showing symptoms when they left China and they left prior to any quarantines.

My resident expert and I are texting about it. I told him that I think the suspected case here is positive.

I'm assuming (and hoping I'm wrong) that they are trying to track down contacts and come up with a game plan. The Tenn Tech student tested on Thursday which is when the A&M and Baylor student were tested. Tenn Tech said negative last night. I figured we would hear by now.foleyt said:

Test is four to six hours. That was either CDC or NIH. Almost certain that they're trying to figure out a contact tree. I can't imagine a negative test wouldn't have been announced quickly.
