Hopefully most people in Texas (or at least the Gulf Coast area) have a hurricane kit that includes water and food for a couple weeks.
Although there is a huge rush at the store anytime something enters the gulf so people could be less prepared than me.
Where would you put all that where you don't already have your food? Though if you have a coastal place I guess it should be a given --basement or something.Ducks4brkfast said:Tx-Ag2010 said:

2500' well and 500 gallons each of gas and diesel. At the ready at all times.
External tanks. I have them on the ranch. Full of red diesel.titan said:Where would you put all that where you don't already have your food? Though if you have a coastal place I guess it should be a given --basement or something.Ducks4brkfast said:Tx-Ag2010 said:

People with any type of autoimmune disorder (lupus, arthritis, etc) should not use Elderberry. I did not know this until I saw it cause severe issues (relative).
There are a lot of things other people take that are over the counter that someone (like me with autoimmune issues) reacts differently because are immune systems are already a bit nutty.PearlJammin said:bloom said:

So it can have a negative effect on the immune system?
I know, but the chances of it infecting the water supply is slim to none.KorbinDallas said:daggertx said:

I'll first say I'm not aware of any evidence that the virus is waterborne. I can see in a quarantine situation water service will suffer. Also I will say I'm no water filtration expert.
I'm not sure how much at particular filter will handle as far as virus and bacteria. There is no mention on the webpage of either of those. Typically for biological a your looking for a specific micron sized filter something like 0.1 micron. Even then, your not going to get 100% of the bacteria/virus. Personally I like backpacking filters for use with untreated water. https://sawyer.com/products/mini-filter/

Welp. China is now admitting it is in a crisis.
The HBO mini-series on the Chernobyl disaster is timely. Look how far things had to go and how terrifying that crisis had to get before the Soviet regime would admit what had happened.cbr said:I dont recall china EVER doing that.Nuclear Scramjet said:

It goes against the basic roots of culture and rule number 1 of their leadership playbook
No one has ever tried to quarantine a whole city, much less 15.
As i suspected, this event is only getting worse.
Those sound a lot like fireworks to me, the mortar type. I have heard the typical AK 47 or AK 74 and they don't sound like that. (I also think you would hear bursts rather than something rhythmic) Remember, this their holiday and I believe that these folks were actually responsible for gunpowder and thus fireworks. I understand that they are under quarantine, but think of when we are under a burn ban. We still hear the fireworks.lunchbox said:

Why do all these diseases come from China ?
That has been discussed extensively. Primarily it is due to poor sanitation, little soap use, and wet meat markets.azulAg said:
