Interesting thought: If the Dem strategy had been to only go with the Ford accusation, they might have swayed Collins or Flake. But by binging in additional, less credible accusations, especially the Avenatti circus, they went too far and pushed the bar past believable.

The real pattern is the convenient timing of all the accusations. They were all intended to delay, not to actually seek truth or justice.

Listen carefully -- the video is only 36 seconds long. Pelosi describes what Democrats do all the time: The Wrap-Up Smear. Ask Kavanaugh about it.

"You smear someone with falsehoods and all the rest, and then you merchandise it."

The R's can't just spike the ball now and walk away. They have to stay on top of this and keep hitting back. The only way the D's stop with the smear play is to realize that it no longer works at all or that the cost of using it is to high, ie. to much collateral damage. I hope the R's keep digging and expose the origins of the Ford debacle. My gut says Feinstein has her dirty hands all over this.

No joke. Between the vote and the Astros game on Friday, I didn't get anything done. Catching up right now.

They don't learn, but I think it's good for our side. They're driving away middle class women from the Dem Party.

Edit:

She's not the only one. There's nothing about Deborah Rameriz or Swetnick either. All 3 will completely disappear, just like the female accusers in the case of Roy Moore. All fabrications. When will the public learn? It's all about the Wrap-Up Smear as described by Pelosi.

Quote:

Alaska Republican party leaders plan to consider whether to reprimand U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski for opposing Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation.

The party has asked Murkowski to provide any information she might want its state central committee to consider.

Party Chairman Tuckerman Babcock says the committee could decide to issue a statement. Or he says it could withdraw support of Murkowski, encourage party officials to look for a replacement and ask that she not seek re-election as a Republican.

He says the party took that more extreme step previously with state legislators who caucused with Democrats.

He says all this follows outrage from Alaska Republicans.

Murkowski told reporters that if she worried about political repercussions she wouldn't be able to do the job Alaskans expect her to do.

Just exactly how does opposition to Kavanaugh enable her "to do the job Alaskans expect her to do"?

The only positive take away from Murkowski's no vote is that if Trump gets to nominate someone to replace RBG I'd expect to see her a solid yes. She might not be the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree but she isn't totally naive to politics. She has four years to work over the voters in Alaska on the no vote on Kavanaugh. Two no votes and that becomes borderline impossible.

I said this exact same thing last week, but I don't think it will be for RBG's replacement. I think it will be for Clarence Thomas. I fully expect Barrett to be his replacement next year. I believe this will be perceived as less of a threat to Collins/Murkowski on abortion rights because you are effectively swapping a conservative out for a conservative.

That is believable. Thomas has got to be thinking of retiring. He's pushing 71 and while he's been on the court over 25 years from what I have read on him he has never seemed to be in love with the position. His confirmation process definitely seemed to sour him. Will be interesting to see what impact the past two weeks has on Kavanaugh. There is no way he went thru that without it impacting him.

Thomas wants to retire and travel around the country in his RV with his wife.

I hope there are consequences for her. If you're going to caucus with Dems, especially on an issue this important, you might as well be a Dem instead of a RINO.
Trump will fix it.
