Trucker, I'm mildly concerned about your welfare. It sounds like you're surrounded by estrogen and wrong think.

Honestly, keep the faith. November will come and go, but then your holidays should be interesting.

If true they need to start dropping bombs. 1/4 of the electorate will have voted by mail by October 1.

I refuse to believe that. Taking time to make things ironclad then the hammer comes down.

This is the same camp I'm in.

The swamp is a murky, black water, filth infested, sewer. Scum creatures keep crawling out from unsuspected dark places to protect it and defend it. The swamp has been unceasing.

Trucker is correct. Must be ironclad, Must be! Need a second Trump term.
So much this; both of these comments.

Half of the country's political class will be inclined to dismiss a rush job out of hand. Just look at the number of people who argue earnestly about the "very fine people" hoax. I know many personally. They have the same information I do. We're as close to being lifelong friends as you might hope to be, and they just don't see it the way we do.

That said, we've been divided over the Mueller investigation, the Ukraine whistleblower, the impeachment proceedings, and nearly every black citizen on the fatal end of the law enforcement equation.

So do we need another rush to "justice" just to placate the right for years of putting up with what we consider to be BS? I get that some want to lustfully shout "YES," but no, we'll wait. We'll let the professionals do their job. We'll let the evidence speak for itself. We'll welcome news about Republicans just as readily as about Democrats (if not more since they make our chosen team, for some, look bad).

Most importantly we'll sit here, waiting for the evidence we suspect is aching to reach the sphere of public discourse. When it arrives we'll be armed with years of insight and understanding the likes of which they've not seen reported. We'll be the trusted sources for tying it all back together when their world comes undone. It won't be Cooper. It won't be Lemon. I won't be any number of morning show pick-a-little, talk-a-little mouthpieces.

No. It will be us--the (im)patient observers--who watch the minutiae daily. I truly believe our collective investment in the truth getting out will pay out soon. It's a bit like waiting at the roulette wheel for 00 to finally hit, but when it does the entire casino floor with look over and wonder what all the excitement is about as the murmurs rise and spread about the "geniuses" who understood what was happening when everyone said it wasn't.

I have one of those. Whole family is like that. Only watch MSNBC and listen to some doc who is all gloom and doom about COVID. A youngest daughter is a political journalism major at tu, and eldest daughter has been living in NYC going to school for the last four years until COVID hit. She has a pic of herself with Elizabeth Warren as her iPhone wallpaper and a Hillary and Michelle O stickers all over her laptop and water bottles (that I guarantee were given to her by her stupid lib grandmother who also only watched CNN and MSNBC and Today). BIL and eldest daughter only leave the house when absolutely necessary and are afraid of everything. I guarantee full blown depression and tears when Trump wins in November.

Hopefully.

It's like I'm on a damn roller coaster, dejected seemingly no justice in sight, then this type of information sucks me back in to believing there's hope.

Trouble is each peak height on a roller coaster gets lower and lower.

Don't worry. The estrogen I'm most associated with is firmly in line with me, maybe even more than me. And the dumb lib SIL is afraid of conflict and puts the lid on any political discussions, even civil ones.

NO AMNESTY!

in order for democrats, liberals, progressives et al to continue their illogical belief systems they have to pretend not to know a lot of things; by pretending "not to know" there is no guilt, no actual connection to conscience. Denial of truth allows easier trespass.

Grand juries were being reconvened in early August, if I'm not mistaken. Public corruption cases are complicated to assemble and present to a grand jury. Takes some time. So, third or last week in September would line up.

Makes perfect sense. She's trusted by Durham. No leaks. She's done with her job. And even if she wasn't on the taint team (a/k/a filter team) it would signal that grand juries were wrapping up.

If memory serves me, we discussed this waaaaayyyyy back when Durham was appointed...something about filtering evidence to prevent bad evidence sneaking in...

I looked for it a bit, I've got some of my own indexing to do. But fully 15 months before Shipwrecked introduced this...we just didn't know it may have been Garrity, but the reasoning matches up.

So, victory for our side...

I wish they would drop bombs now too. Even so, I have to ask myself why Trump is not blowtorching Barr on Twitter for not indicating these hoodlums now. Why is Barr not getting the heat that Sessions got? The evidence is overwhelming and his strongest supporters are almost apoplectic about the injustice.

One possibility is that the ugrent need for justice and punishment of the guilty is in Trump's blind spot. Donald Trump has a YUGE blind spot created by his need to be liked, or if you prefer his belief that he can charm his natural enemies. The time he gave to Bob Woodward to slowly insert a dagger in Trump's back and twist is an example of this blind spot. Anyone who denies that Trump continues to suffer a naivete or arrogance that he can convert demons to the faith is giving him too much credit. Trump let's the wolves close enough to bite him over and over again. That is one possibility for the lack of action.

Another possibility is a calculus centered on what you said, specifically that 1/4 of the voters will have cast votes by October 1. If the Trump campaign believes that the early voters are committed partisans for botH sides that will not change their votes and, that their internal polling indicates a comfortable Trump victory then waiting on the indictments might make more sense. Indicting the big fish after the election would provide a steamroller roll over the opposition and call into question the honesty of the Democrat supporters of Spygate that remain in Congress. Requiring Democrats (hopefully a minority in both houses) to repudiate the false narratives they recited for four years before working with them on any legislative priorities would be a very powerful tool. I hope that this is the reason they have not prosecuted yet, i.e. they don't need to rush it from political ends, and that they are seeking a bigger impact rather than. Soo er impact. The governmental equivalent of Michael Corleone's revenge is what I would like to see along with allocution before the cameras for any reduction in sentencing below the maximum.

The 60 day thing is interesting too, Dems seem to want to hide behind that of late (wonder why?).

When Barr last appeared before Congress over the summer, the Dems asked him to confirm they wouldn't indict anyone within the 60 day window due to department policy.

Barr clarified that the policy is to not indict within 60 days of the election with the intent to impact the election. That indicting people who committed provable crimes is under no such restriction in the view of the DOJ.

"I've said that there are sort of two missions, I see it. One is to get to the bottom of what happened and get the facts out about that and we are going to do that and you know, try to be careful about that, that we don't do anything that would unduly interfere with the election," Barr said. "And then there's the issue of whether someone crossed the line.

In the course of these, in my view, unjustified and horrible abuse of power, actually cross the line and committed a federal offense and I can't really say anything about the status of that investigation except that it's continuing and we'll be careful about not bringing indictments in a way that can be viewed as interfering with the election."

In August, FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith became the first individual under investigation by Durham to plead guilty to charges of illegally doctoring information on a FISA warrant application for Trump campaign advisor Carter Page in 2016. Barr has been careful about setting expectations for additional indictments or guilty pleas.

"You need strong evidence of intent, it seems to me, before you can charge that kind of crime so developing that evidence is a time consuming process. Most of the people who are mouthing off about 'well why aren't these people already indicted,' they don't understand the criminal justice process.

People get lawyers, sometimes they won't talk to you. Even if they talk to you they'll say they'll take the fifth and you have to get documents and frequently fight over documents and fight over things in court so the investigation is a cumbersome process. It's not something that can be done quickly," he continued.

Issues of cooperation can delay any investigation, but the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic also temporarily halted the ability for Durham to convene grand juries earlier this year. In addition, previous and lengthy investigations from DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz and Special Counsel Robert Mueller presented investigative conflicts, pushing back the Durham timeline.

"The other thing that people sometimes forget is that, you know, they may have in their own mind some thing that they think can be indicted but there are a lot of different allegations that have been made. A lot of people have sort of picked apart this and have come up with various theories. Part of what Durham has to do is sort of chase all of those down. That takes time.

He didn't really get going until May or so (2019). And then hired up people and started getting going. People forget that he didn't get access to the Horowitz stuff until December," Barr said.

"When I hear people on TV saying, 'well we've had four years why nothing?' We haven't had four years. The first two years of the administration nothing was done at all. It was all investigating Trump and then Mueller went half of the way into the next year."
Quote:

"In terms of investigations it's actually moving along but I know people are impatient," he continued.

Ya, I have a feeling there will be some sort of record that provides very clear information on who is lying. i.e. meeting, email, etc.

Considering Lisa Page said roughly "POTUS wants to know everything we're doing".

Only options I see here are:
A) Comey is lying
B) Lynch is lying
C) Obama orchestrated this whole thing and they are trying to cover for him
D) WHY NOT ALL OF THE ABOVE??
