I appreciate your, and everyone else's, contributions on this thread but I've believed for awhile now that nothing will come of this and both sides are running out the clock. No one of significance will pay for their seditious behavior.
No, no my good bud, They will pay, they all will pay, THE QUESTION IS WHEN? It is much better to get busted now, so that at least you have a chance to repent and get right with God before being chunked into the lake of fire! (that they, the wicked foolishly believe, [desperately hope] does not exist.)
Ps 14
The fool has said in his heart,"There is no God. "They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. 2 The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. 3 They have all turned aside,They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one. 4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call on the Lord? 5 There they are in great fear, For God is with the generation of the righteous. 6 You shame the counsel of the poor, But the Lord is his refuge. 7 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad. NKJVand
Ps 2
Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, 3 "Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us." 4 HE WHO SITS IN THE HEAVENS SHALL LAUGH; The Lord shall hold them in derision. 5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure: 6 "Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion." 7 "I will declare the decree:The Lord has said to Me, 'You are My Son,Today I have begotten You. 8 Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.'" 10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little.Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him. NKJVThe wicked
(that don't repent) will perish, they will not escape judgement, In fact it is much better to go through 'judgement' while one still draws breath. Because once we are in the courts of the Lord the verdicts are final and their is no appeal court!
The reality is the best thing to ever happen to Nebuchadnezzar is his going insane for a season. The entire 4th chapter of Daniel is a proclamation and letter Nebuchadnezzar sent out to the entire Kingdom that covers the whole tale! Believe it or not, he will be their in the Kingdom of God! It was God's mercy that drove him insane. It was also God's mercy that struck Paul blind and knocked him off his horse.
Also we see Paul himself call down blindness on "Bar Jesus" in Acts 13.
Acts 13:6-12
Now when they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-Jesus, 7 who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man called for Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. 8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. 9 Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him 10 and said, "O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? 11 And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time."And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand. 12 Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had been done, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord. NKJVNotice it says that Paul, FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, proceeded to put the smack down on this dude (debate over!). It was actually the best thing that could of happened to him, At least he now knows that the God that Paul was speaking of has some real power and now he at least has a chance to "consider his ways' and possibly repent.
I don't know about others but the vast majority of those who come to the Lord as an adult that I know, have all faced some sort of severe crises that they could not handle that drove them to humble themselves before the Lord. This is actually the mercy of God. I am praying that the Lord will pour out His 'mercy' on many of the wicked right now!
It's the only chance they, have. If that does not happen well the next court they are in will not go well for them and they cannot bribe or pay off that judge! The Lord wills that none perish, He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked!
Ezek 33:10-20
10 "Therefore you, O son of man, say to the house of Israel: 'Thus you say, "If our transgressions and our sins lie upon us, and we pine away in them, how can we then live?"' 11 Say to them: 'As I live,' says the Lord God, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?'
12 "Therefore you, O son of man, say to the children of your people: 'The righteousness of the righteous man shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall because of it in the day that he turns from his wickedness; nor shall the righteous be able to live because of his righteousness in the day that he sins.' 13 When I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, but he trusts in his own righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteous works shall be remembered; but because of the iniquity that he has committed, he shall die. 14 Again, when I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die,' if he turns from his sin and does what is lawful and right, 15 if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has stolen, and walks in the statutes of life without committing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 16 None of his sins which he has committed shall be remembered against him; he has done what is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
17 "Yet the children of your people say, 'The way of the Lord is not fair.' But it is their way which is not fair! 18 When the righteous turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he shall die because of it. 19 But when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is lawful and right, he shall live because of it. 20 Yet you say, 'The way of the Lord is not fair.' O house of Israel, I will judge every one of you according to his own ways."
NKJV
"only one thing is important!"
