i think tonights was the best episode to date.

excellent. if they cancel this show, i'm gonna burn NBC down.

It's a good show, but they don't exactly schedule it at the best time/date.

I'm torn on this show...the Texas football stereotypes are only being reinforced, but it makes for good drama. The psychology of the characters is very interesting to be sure. Sarazen and Taylor are good people. Buddy Garrity is pure slime. Lyla is hot, but is an emotional disaster waiting to happen. Tyra is hot too (I think even hotter than Lyla), but gets treated like a sloot. It will be interesting to see how the storylines develop.

I liked this episode but I didn't think it was the best. I kind of wish they would have shown the pilot last night if they are trying to attract new viewers instead of showing this episode on both Monday and Tuesday.

i think they are trying to mix in the "grew up in this small crappy town, and just trying to find a way out of it now" angle/storyline.

why are there only 3 characters? plot seems really like it has nowhere to go. Also, the football footage was terrible and laughable

The Coach's Wife (she's got her own storyline being a school counselor)

The Coach's Daughter (trying to adjust to this new situation she's in)

Serecin (The backup QB who nobody gives much of a chance)

The Hot Cheerleader

The Paralyzed former star starting QB

The disturbed best friend/teamate of the paralyzed QB

The watiress who wants only to get out of that town

Several other minor characters.

As mentioned before, the football footage last night was a tad on the laughable side. Not one of their better episodes, as far as videography goes.

The biggest error in last night's episode was that if they had just kicked a PAT at the end, the game would have ended in a tie. The announcer said "Dillon will be happy to get out of here with a tie."

They need to get the Texas HS football facts straight. Other than a few minor complaints it's a good show.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I guess they were using 1980s-era UIL rules, before we instituted overtime.

on one of the plays on the game winning drive one of the receiver went out of bounds and the announcer said "out of bounds, that will stop the clock while they move the chains"

I didn't catch that. Surely that wasn't in the script.

just watched it again. it's when the running back goes to the left and he gets pushed out. the announcer says "pushed out of bounds and that will stop the clock while they move the chains"

I assumed (probably incorrectly) that by "get out of here" he meant the drive, not the game. Of course if the show were thinking the game would end in a tie, it makes a hell of alot more sense why he went for 2.

That was the one thing I couldn't figure out...if you look over and see they are exhausted, that means you beat them in overtime, not that you beat them on a 2pt conversion. Who knows what the hell they were thinking...

The funniest thing in this show is their "the 4th quarter is ours" belief. Is there any team in Texas that doesn't believe that the 4th quarter is theirs? I think throwing that into the show is the most realistic small detail they've had.
