This morning I finished Sharpe's Trafalgar by Bernard Cornwell (book 4) and will start book 5, Sharpe's Prey.

Not new books, but if anyone is a Dashiell Hammett fan, I stumbled across Spade and Archer by Joe Gores (prequel to The Maltese Falcon), which led me to Return of the Maltese Falcon (sequel) by Max Collins. I am a big Hammett fan (the Continental Op is my favorite character), and I was pleasantly surprised by both books.

Finished Shadows Upon Time today...really cements how uneven the entire series was. I really hated how this one ended

Well, I hate to hear this as someone who is through the first two books.

I will say this is a series that ends up in the divisive category almost solely based on the last book. Some really didn't like where Ruocchio decided to take it/end it and some did. Not to discourage you at all. I truly enjoyed that middle section of the series. It was fantastic and some better reading I have done in a long while.

I'm having a tough time getting into and honestly struggling to even piece together what is happening.

Moving along in my year of Stephen King, I just finished the Stand (really enjoyed it) and moving into the Dark Tower series. I started the Gunslinger but man, I'm having a tough time getting into and honestly struggling to even piece together what is happening. I'll keep going, but curious if this book is more of a stage setter than anything.
