I saw it yesterday, as well. My wife is an English teacher at a local high school and she really wanted to see it. I got dragged along. First thought is the director/producer pulled in actors that would likely get him Academy Award nominations. Wife says films now must have LGBTQ+ actors to even get considered. Director wasn't trying to make an historically accurate film of the legend, he's trying to get a nomination.
Miscast characters were few and far between. Those actors made their parts somewhat of a joke, in my mind. As in many movie recreations of legends, this movie didn't quite hold true. Seems everybody needs to put their own spin on the classics.
In a theater that had seating for 200+, there were 16 viewers. Yes, I counted. Wife thinks Tom Holland is the next great actor. I don't see it.
Wife gives it a C+. I give it a C-. Would I see it again? No way. Had to down a few margs at Las Cucos afterwards to make the trip worthwhile.
