In the guessing stage of every new Nolan movie I always try to think what genre hasn't he done yet, and even then I didn't have "mythic action epic" on my bingo card. But it's definitely a genre he hasn't tackled yet and, as always, I can't wait to see what he does with it.

Was literally wondering the same thing. You just know there HAS to be some added element that Nolan is going to bring, and especially with this story I could see all kinds of cutting back-and-forth in time.

To be fair, it was only one random reddit user who started the Blue Thunder rumor. Then everyone else kind of went with it, thinking it was likely true due to how random it was. But no other "insiders" ever claimed it was the real deal. And then io9 was the only site who said it was the vampire thing, and they should be the ones with egg on their face now.

To me, officially using the word "mythic" says period piece, but some kind of modern or future setting, but with "mythic" elements, could be super cool too.
