My brother used to go to Dead shows in Vegas and Arizona with a guy who would bring a mini Hibachi and make burritos to sell with a sign reading "$3 each or 3 for $10." The number of $10 bills he was handed was incredible.
pretty sure I could try that at a lot of places

I think a lot of Springsteen hate comes from the same place that people don't like Bob Dylan, and not to be glib, but it's because they didn't die young or retire early and become a recluse. As a child of the 80s, you could say the same thing about Madonna.

The 2 of them look around at their contemporaries (Madonna and the Boss that is), and Michael Jackson is dead, Prince is dead, Whitney is dead, Tom Petty is dead, Tina Turner is dead, while they keep churning out music.

For Dylan, John Lennon's been dead for almost 44 years, Roy Orbison has been dead for 26 years. The guys he came up with died young and their music stayed golden.

Imagine if Kurt Cobain hadn't killed himself and was still churning albums in 2024 at age 57.
It's because they both have awful voices.

You guys are crazy. I love a lot of the rock bands from the 70s and 80s including Boston. More Than a Feeling is one of the greatest songs ever. Nothing much good after the 80s. One of my favorite things is to load up a bunch of CDs (yes CDs not Spotify etc), crank the volume and play the drums along with the songs. You can get a pretty good workout with Rush, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, etc. More fun than jogging.

Prince is just a ***. I don't think he qualifies as somebody we're all supposed to like.

As a white fan of older hard rock and metal, I feel like I'm supposed to like Zeppelin, but other than a few songs Robert Plants voice is just annoying. Same goes for Rush.

Prince was one of if not the most talented musician we have ever seen. He could play like 25 instruments at an elite level and was one of the greatest guitarists ever. He recorded every instrument for his songs. His songs are really good but I respect your opinion.
He also sings and dresses like a girl, so all of that is nixed for me. I don't like highly feminized male singers.

I encourage you to read about him. While he wore outlandish outfits he dated the best looking actresses and models on the planet.

Am I the only one who was confused by the OP? I was probably more surprised that Boston was resonant enough to have a 'hot take' on than I was that somebody doesn't like Boston.

If I put it in 2000's terms, it would be like if somebody said 'I'm sorry but I just can't stand Matchbox 20' or Out r Lady Peace or some other successful generic band of the time.

One of these is not like the others and I've never known someone to say such a thing but each to their own.

Mentioned many times already but for me it's definitely Bruce Springsteen. Although ironically I saw him sit in with Phish on "Glory Days" at bonnaroo 2009 and quite enjoyed myself.

That's what I thought as well. Boston's last top 10 hit was in 1987 - 37 years ago. It's supremely easy to avoid listening to their music in 2024. It'd be like walking around in 1987 apologizing for not liking Bing Crosby or Nat King Cole.

Hilarious. Can't disagree with any of that. It's just on the top of my mind since the local classic rock station is always playing them. And I always remember Alfred T. Hornback's (and basically every other jukebox) having them get played...and I could not understand why.

Aeromsith after 1980 is hot garbage. Crap.
*Walk This Way Run DMC remix was awesome though and probably why they rebounded

Aerosmith before 1980 is pretty good. Not great. But some classics.
