It was fantastic, but given the stellar quality of much of Chris Nolan's previous works, it ranks right in the middle for me. This was a gripping movie that never seemed to slow down despite not being an action movie and being set mostly inside of labs or other non-exciting locations.
The sound was incredible. During the Trinity test, I knew it was coming, I was sitting there watching all these amazing images playing out on screen to silence, knowing the bang was coming - and then chuckled when my wife flinched at that sudden explosive noise.
I saw it on the ONYX screen at the Star Cinema Grill in Richmond. That screen was definitely not IMAX, but I wasn't really sure what to expect out of it given what I'd read about it. But the image projection was damn near perfect. I do have to agree with my wife that the movie wasn't really one to see on such a screen, IMAX or ONYX, unlike something like Top Gun Maverick might have been.
My biggest complaint, if I can call it, regarding this movie - I doubt it is ever high on the re-watchability list. Yeah, I will definitely watch it again, but that won't be something I'll do as often as with any of his Batman movies, or Interstellar.
