The plan? Manufacture a shortage of 4K Blu-rays for OPPENHEIMER, thus generating additional publicity for its release at the start of award season, while also reinvigorating the home media market pic.twitter.com/5Ymv1TI8nw

- Sold out 70mm IMAX showings for MONTHS
- Physical copies impossible to get your hands on unless you buy from a reseller at 10x the cost
- Christopher Nolan’s best & most important work
Just feels right to win Best Picture (& so much more) https://t.co/IQqqPCMvZs

4K UHD? Because the two I went to had plenty of Blu-ray and DVD versions, but the 4K UHD sections were completely sold out.

Here are Christopher Nolan and Ludwig Göransson’s speeches prior to the Oppenheimer concert. It is truly surreal that the same orchestra who played on the film’s score performed for us last night 🩶 pic.twitter.com/fRBMxK5dcE

Nolan has that effect on people. When I saw Interstellar, I thought it was pretty good. Then I watched it a second time and it was even more better than I imagined. Same with Oppenheimer.

Just FYI Oppenheimer is on Peacock if anyone wants to stream it. I've been doing a rewatch and this movie is just so damn good. It's more enjoyable on the second watch for me because you know where the film is going. In the first viewing a lot of the black and white scenes that are spliced in were confusing to me while I was watching, even though it comes together in the end. This film was definitely the best thing I saw last year.

Finally watched this. Really enjoyed it but didn't love it. As others have stated though, repeat viewings are a must for Nolan. Right now it's not in his top 3 for me.
The first 2 hours were very compelling and great, but the last hour when all of a sudden RDJ became a main character were less so. I understand exploring the moral aftermath but it was just tough to follow that first 2 hours so it felt like the movie ended with maybe it's weakest section.
I think it will win best picture, director, actor, and maybe supporting actor and I am fine with that. It's not my favorite that I've seen but it's worthy.
How did it get nominated for Best Sound though? I am not a subtitle guy but turned it on pretty early in the movie due to Oppenheimers soft voice and the inability to make out what people were saving. I guess maybe that's mixing though? Hard for me to say a movie deserves any sound award when the dialogue is hard to hear.

Batter my heart, three-personed God, for you
As yet but knock, breathe, shine, and seek to mend;
That I may rise, and stand, o'erthrow me, and bend
Your force to break, blow, burn, and make me new.
I, like an usurped town, to another due,
Labour to admit you, but Oh, to no end.
Reason, your viceroy in me, me should defend,
But is captived, and proves weak or untrue.
Yet dearly I love you, and would be loved fain,
But am betrothed unto your enemy:
Divorce me, untie or break that knot again,
Take me to you, imprison me, for I,
Except you enthrall me, never shall be free,
Nor ever chaste, except you ravish me.
