I think Rupert was very much a Trump proxy.

How so? He was a dick but I found to be the generic rich guy character.

A lot of what motivated Jason Sudeikis to make the show was the general climate of negativity that (in his opinion) Trump brought, so he wanted to counter that with a generally happy show.

Fine but I think you're projecting.

He's literally talked about that, maybe not the Rupert bit but definitely the Trump part.

Sure. Because a childless Rupert using a newborn against Rebecca is totes the same thing as Trump who has a flock of kids.

Random question: did anyone else think Sassy looked/talked very different the last season? I didnt even think it was the same actress at first. Something was different about her.

Also, I just heard Alan Alda interviewed on the radio, and it made me think of this thread. He was asked what would be different about Mash, had it come out today during the streaming era. His answer was that there would be a lot more cussing. He said he thinks there must be a director of cussing for streaming shows, because there has been a sharp increase for no reason. Made me chuckle, coming from a guy who hasnt exactly shied away from cussing in the past.

Well, the king of cursing is Succession, and they're on HBO. HBO is where i learned about most things in life.

Richmond have a successful year and stay up in the PL. Ted leaves to go be with his son back in America, but Beard stays behind with Roy. Nate learns he's not ready to be a HC but also that he's being used by Rupert and he and Ted have a reconciling of sorts before Ted leaves.
Pretty good call by jeffk on page 1 of this thread.

Only a "book reader" could have guessed all of that.

I hate that I'm even doing this but Keeley admits to "having a million one night stands" in season one.

Going back to the introduction of the Zava character. Was rewatching S3.

In S3 E3, 4-5-1......when Zava is introduced to Keely in Rebecca's office, she extends her hand and he takes her hand in his hands, and kisses the back of his hand.

How did I miss that...that was freakin' hilarious. Lots of little stuff like that made the show fantastic.
