Followed up the worst episode of the whole series with arguably the best. Bravo to the development of several characters all hitting at once.

Nate showed some balls.

They handled that situation way better than I thought they would. Solid.

Also, Jamie has like five lines and they all are dynamite. "What the hell is a Denver Bronco?"

Great episode. I really enjoyed the longer length here. I related a lot to how Isaac was feeling about finding out Colin was gay, after going through something similar awhile back.

Not sure what comedy is better. The bar group or Will the kit boy.

Also great nonchalant that's what she said joke

Roy's press conference was gold.

Thank god Jack is done. Apparently.

We got to see some soccer play finally but not the game winner come on man!!!!

Crazy how the episode that focuses on the team and has zero Jack/PR nonsense is one of the best of the season…

Great episode, so many great moments and it all felt organic and not forced.

Jamie looking at Sam, and trying to get the Captain's armband was funny out of nowhere.

Absolutely.

This is setting up to be a very good conclusion. Predictions....IMO:

First, Roy is being set up to be the gaffer when Ted leaves at the shows conclusion.

Beard stays behind to coach and Nate gets added to the staff after Rupert sacks him.

Jamie and Keely reunite.

Nate and Jade end up happily ever after.......

Rebecca...that one has me puzzled.

Been an interesting season, but really like where its headed.

I could definitely see Roy, Beard, and even Nate being the new Richmond staff as I've thought Ted leaves for Kansas to be with his son at the end of the season.

It'd be kind of badass if Nate nutted up and quit at West Ham, but they might go the firing route too.

Roy's story about his former teammate hit me square in the feels last night. Excellent piece of writing.

The best scene of the episode was Rebecca dressing down Roy in her office.

Yeah, it was great. A good mirror scene to when Roy told her she deserved better than the dude she was settling on a season or so back.

Hmmm, predictions, let's see here:

  • Rebecca remains team owner but steps down from day-to-day management of the team. She appoints Higgins to be in charge, who then hires Keely to return to the team and run comms/PR. Rebecca "disappears" but Keely knows she's in Amsterdam, trying to find her beau (or however you say 'beau' in Dutch, fwoolkschplowk or something I'm sure)
  • I don't want to guess what happens to Beard because I know I'll be wrong and cannot wait to see how
  • Jamie wears #10, finally, after Roy tells him there's nothing more he can teach him
  • Rupert fires Nate after Richmond defeat West Ham and pictures emerge of Nate meeting Ted and apologizing
  • Higgins wants Ted to remain long-term, giving him the choice, knowing he misses his son dearly. You never know Ted's answer but see Michelle and Henry arriving in London for a new adventure as the show fades out

I love how Roy is turning into mini Ted. Even at the press conference, instead of just saying **** you, he used a story to get across a much larger point, just like Ted does.

Great things happen when you let Rebecca be a boss and let Roy be more than a one-line grump in the background.

Also a gay man describing always being gay as "after he was born he never looked back" is an amazing line.

I like where your head is at. Would almost be too good. But I can hope.

I'll throw in Beard writes a soccer book:
BELIEVE
The Ted Lasso Method

and then retires to a buddhist monastery in the Himalayas to find his zen with the Dalai Lama.

It's as good a guess as any for the wild card.

They're definitely setting Nate up for some kind of showdown with Rupert, super interested to see where that goes.

Loved last night's ep, thought they handled a subject that could've come off as preachy really REALLY well.

Predictions-

-Roy becomes the gaffer
-Nate quits west ham and takes up the Poland national team head coach and moves there with jade, going out on his own and accepting that he is indeed the man in his life who matters
-bantr uses Collin as a spokesman and takes off in multiple directions
-ted goes back to Kansas
-coach beard follows Ted. While he is a wild card, he does not exist without Ted
-Rebecca remains who she is, only realizing she has already has a child like person in her life she can pour into- keely
-Jamie moves on to a bigger club, but as an all around better player and star
- the last episode ends with a reading by and from Trent crimms new book about the lasso way

His book begins with a woman getting a football team in divorce.

Loved it. Reminded me of so many of the season 1 episodes. May just be my favorite of the series.

The writers setting up all season for the captain to get hurt (in this case, ejected) and who better to step in as captain than reformed and good teammate Jamie... Only for the writers to quite literally give the audience the middle finger.

I'm no longer sure if he does get to be captain by the end of the season but I do think the message was clear - "it isn't THAT easy..."

First, loved this episode.

But, random question, did anyone else notice it looked like Roy was wearing a garmin watch at the press conference? Thought that was odd. Just assumed any smart watches would be Apple Watches
