man, i would have loved for Michelle and Henry to move to England just so we could get a scene where Michelle sits down with Dr. Sharon who opens the session with "i know you and Ted have previously tried therapy, so i just want to be perfectly clear that i will not be shagging you"

the absence of Dr Boyfriend at Henry's game) was written to imply that. Whether her and Ted get back together is more ambiguous.
In my experience coaching kids sports - mainly Girls Softball in both California and Australia, I'll say the involvement of parents in their kids sports was one big difference between the two locales.

With divorce situations in California, usually the only parent who would show up to the games was the one whose weekend it was whereas in Australia, both parents would usually showed up. Sometimes with their new SO.

In California, there were a few parents who expected you to follow their visitation schedule and only contact them about games that were on their weekend and contact the other parent for games on their weekend.

Of course with Ted being the coach, he's going to be at all the games and I guess Michelle is enjoying watching her son instead of running off to Vegas on her "free weekend".

From my experiences, one parent would show up to all games and the other only when they had the kid.

A few times the parent whose weekend it was not would show up and the kid wasn't there.

I know with my step son, we went to all his games regardless of whose weekend it was.

I figured he was just going to the house where Henry lived to see Henry... also he doesn't have another house currently. Maybe he and Michelle got back together at some point, but I got the impression that ship had sailed and Ted's relationship with her was just as a co-parent now.

And sure, Rebecca's offer of millions is really enticing, but not really for Ted as we've come to understand him. He wanted to go home to his boy. And he thinks of home as KC, even if Richmond is pretty great too. I'm sure they could have made it work logistically, but the arc they wrote for Ted began and ended home with Henry in KC, everything else that would have led somewhere different either gets explained away or ignored.
Michelle doesnt seem like the malicious type to forbid Ted coming to the house and staying there until he was able to find another place to live...maybe he was waiting to close on a house...who knows...

A woman who didn't have any qualms seeing her marriage counselor probably wouldn't see any boundary issues with her ex-husband staying with her and her new boyfriend.*

*I don't actually think she stays with Dr Boyfriend, and the game-watching scene (actually both scenes, the physical distancing in the Richmond game-watching scene, and the absence of Dr Boyfriend at Henry's game) was written to imply that. Whether her and Ted get back together is more ambiguous.

That didn't take long. Figured that Apple wouldn't say/do much on the issue until much later in the year.

This is pretty much what I was getting at previously. Starting with the middle of season 2, Ted was less and less needed to advance the other characters. Outside of convincing Coach to bring Nate back, there wasn't much he did other than some small nudges.

The little details in this show are amazing, totally missed the tape callback. Trying to do a second run through the show...curious what I missed the first go around.

Did not know until today - perhaps a part of the nod to Cheers in the finale was because - George Wendt (Norm) is Jason Sudeikis' uncle. His mother is Wendt's older sister.

PS - I think a complete rewatch of this series is in order - and sooner not later. I think it will be amazing to see all the little things that are going to matter again but know about them.

I re-watched S1E1 last night and it was cool to see how much had changed over time. Keeley's physical transformation was pretty dramatic to me. She looked a lot different in the beginning than the end.

A couple other posters have mentioned it previously here. Really cool tie-in though.

Avoided all spoilers for months and finally re-upped Apple TV+ to binge S3.

The only thing I haven't seen mentioned (unless I missed it) was Nate used red material to put the BELIEVE sign back together....to make it stronger....just like the psychic's Japanese bowl.

I had thought so too seeing how well it fit and he was already doing all the music anyway. Seemed like a no brainer.

Red?
It's gold. That's the whole point of kintsugi.
Apologies if you're colorblind.

The connections on the sign were red. You can't really use gold on yellow. My point was the same technique was used (regardless of color or material).

Since you're being stubborn about it….
A) the entire point is using gold to make something beautiful out of something broken.
B) your post was to point out an "Easter egg" of sorts. If he's not using gold, there's no Easter egg/connection. He's just taping up a torn up sign in that case.
C)
D) get your eyes checked and/or adjust your TV

https://tvline.com/lists/ted-lasso-series-finale-easter-eggs-references-list/nate-believe-sign-kintsugi/

Quote:

First Reference: Rebecca's mother's psychic shows off a unique bowl in her house, explaining that the Japanese art of kintsugi mends broken things with gold, to create something beautiful while embracing its flaws (in Season 3, Episode 3).

Finale Reference: Nate uses the same practice to repair Ted's "Believe" sign, painting over the tears with gold and rehanging it in the Greyhounds' locker room.

Looking at the picture in that link, part of it looks like red between the pieces and part looks goldish. Either way, that's what I was trying to say.

Pretty much every podcast I listen to with celebrities, they all have a therapist.

I do think that people who are creative like Hollywood though, have a ton more issues than the average person.
