Keely's obnoxious ex-assistant Shandy, who she fired leaked the photo!!

I don't think the leak comes up again. It did its purpose -- Jack breakup, Keeley-Rebecca bonding, Jamie's growth, and Keeley taking ownership and not being ashamed. No need for it any more.

The issue is Keely is a great character but she's on an island with people we don't care about doing things we don't care about. A Keely/Roy/Jamie love triangle would be interesting but we've wasted so much time getting here.

Maybe Roy and Jamie have a competition and one of them must move on from Richmond.

Perhaps Roy joining up with Nate post west ham or perhaps Jaime goes to a bigger club

That might very well be true.

But, it's bigger than just keely.

Rebecca was also great dissing on Paris.

I hope that they do not make Collin's outing into some huge negative gay-bashing scene because it wouldn't be realistic in 2023. Teams have gay guys come out all the time. It's old hat now. I hope it is the Captain gathering his team and collectively embracing Collin's orientation because he is family and that's all that matters.
How did you get there?

When was the last time you watched any show that reacted negatively toward gays? Any show at all?

Last one I can think of (not counting prison sex in "American History X") was the Governor Ventura, Red Man Tobacco, Sexual Tyrannosaurus scene in Predator. That was 1987.

Spring-boarding off the Jack photo leak and previous "Jack is in cahoots with Rupert" conspiracy theories, I'll offer this:

Jack is a Targ.

What do the Targaryens have to do with any of this?

Which makes the story line all the more bizarre.

If it's a back door pilot, which makes sense given how they've isolated it from the other characters/stories, they've done absolutely nothing to further develop Keeley or any of her co-workers to a point anybody would want to spend more time with them

It just makes zero sense to me

Throwback to the GOT threads where everyone was predicted to be a Targ, in response to conspiracy theories here that Jack was a Rupert plant.

Not bashing per se in the violent sense, but a preaching / teaching opportunity for Hollywood. You know, "If these professional footballers can accept it, so can you".

That's the problem. We don't want nor need Hollywood to preach/teach to us about their causes.

I don't know if it was intended to be a tongue in cheek take on the old "The more you know" things on NBC(i think)
Or if it was just an awfully executed attempt at commentary on the real world, both in terms of writing and acting.

Good to know.

Yeah I didn't mean to imply that I think it's going to turn into an "everyone gets back together" situation. But I do think it'll be a good, "happy" ending.

I think we're due a pretty big tragedy before we get there though. Keeley's thing isn't enough (we all wanted that to happen).

My bold prediction: Michelle dies. The green matchbook is fascinating to me so this is my easy way of making those predictions come true. Ted has to take a leave of absence or maybe quits outright. Nate stunningly quits West Ham to fill in for Ted (gives him agency rather than getting fired by Rupert). Then way down the line after a period of appropriate grief, Ted and Rebecca somehow reconnect and get together and she becomes a mother to Henry.

Y'all can write the rest of the characters.

An interesting thought. Could be why no ring. If she always wants to see Paris could be her dying wish.

You are absolutely right that Hollywood does not need to preach or teach us anything, but it is doubtful that they'll pass up an opportunity. So far we've seen environmental, anti-oil issues and immigrant racism unify the team. So there will need to be some backlash about Colin from someone - a teammate, a fan, opposing fans, the press -- so that we can see the team have Colin's back. They are going to have a couple of episodes about him and McAdoo's big "cliffhanger" reaction without some payoff.

I'm thinking there's some fan backlash on Colin and Keeley helps Richmond come together with some Pride kits or something. She did help with the whole Dubai Air/Bantr switch.

Damn you for putting that notion in my head. Now I really want to see Collin and Keely's gay storylines blowup the last few episodes and be the tip of the spear for the rest of the season. For no other reasons than seeing F16 just go apoplectic.

I finally caught up on the season. Liking this season way better than last season but obviously not as good as the first season.

Dang, looks like the "jack is in league with Rupert" conspiracy has already made it's way here. Silly that I convinced myself I thought of something original...

I still think it is possible. Something about Rebecca's warning to keely "love bombing is what Rupert did to me" made me start to think it'd make sense if jack was in league with Rupert.

But honestly, the main reason I still think they are in league together is because what the fk has been the point of keely, jack and the pr firm this season? I'm hopeful the writers have some point that ties into the whole story and it isn't just some random ass **** that led nowhere and has nothing to do with the show or any of the characters in the show.

Maybe I'm just being too optimistic; however, if ruperts goal was to make Rebecca miserable (like having a kid with his new wife because he knew Rebecca always wanted a kid), than what better way to hurt Rebecca than to "steal" her newfound friend (through jack). Rupert could even be funding keely and the pr firm, to make sure she wasn't around to be friends with Rebecca.

Simply put, as soon as Rupert saw Rebecca being a friend/mother type figure to keely, he wanted to break it up and destroy keely. The redemption is when Rebecca comes through and supports keely (financially) after jack pulls her funds.
