Not saying I agree with his specific points, but this show is half awesome and half pretty bad.
There's enough great moments to stick through it to finish the season/series, but I doubt I'll ever watch this season again. If it didn't have the previous two seasons of attachment, we 100% would not have finished this season. So it's not unreasonable to want to finish something you started, enjoyed, but also annoys you when you're so close to the end.
I still find myself smiling every episode. That's what I love about the show.

For me, the part of the storyline that mattered the most...Ted and the team...was great.
I enjoyed seeing Jamie take ownership of the team, he just keeps taking steps with every episode and that's been one of the most enjoyable arcs of the season.
I never thought I would ever hear a Blue Collar Comedy reference in an AppleTV+ show, but Ted nailed it. That was great. Loved Roy not being able to help himself with the puns.
The 'kick it hard as you can' scene with Higgins spilling his hot tea (shades of Top Gun) and the perfectly timed 'Juuust a bit outside' Major League reference was GOLD. On a side note, the announcers for each game have reminded me of Harry Doyle throughout the entire series.
They've done a great job of pulling the audience back in with Nate. To start the season with him being one of the most hated, to seeing him with his mom/sister and succeeding on getting the date is not what I was expecting after Ep1. But if they want to fully redeem him, I echo what others have said...I hope they have Nate help someone in a way that doesn't benefit him at all.
The political storyline seemed extremely forced and over-the-top...but the payoff was good. They needed to find a way for Sam to have a deeply vulnerable moment and for the team to come together and help him, and for his father to see why the team means so much to Sam...that part of it was great. His father cooking for the team at the end with Sam brought it back to fit the tone of the show.
Trent's excitement seemed a little cheesy, but like so many characters in this show, it points to how much Ted has taken some hardened personalities and turned them into optimistic believers. That's the heart of what this show is about.
Sure, there are things they throw in the storyline that annoy me, but it doesn't overtake what I love about this show...the heart. And Roy. Lots and lots of Roy.

Overall, I'm happy we've gone back to focusing on the main cast of characters, minus Jack.
My wife said she hasn't laughed as hard at a TV show since the office fire alarm scene when the rope pens scene happened
And, I understand the purpose of the political scene and what it set up. Maybe instead of using the most cliche conservative complaints, they could have had the Ghanaian billionaire sabotage his business. Same result.

I almost forgot about Danny doing the "we're going to f-ck them up" and McAdoo immediately going "ay dios mio" when Ted had them swap. That was sooo funny
Last night's episode makes me really sad that this season will be the last. So many great characters and story lines that could continue on. I want more of Sam's father.
It was very reminiscent of the long d joke in Silicon Valley, especially since Roy came up with a second strategy to keep it going. Sorry, I still can't stand Nate and hope he crashes and burns in an awful way.
There have been some really high heart and comedy notes these last couple of episodes.
I don't enjoy the social and political stuff they've forced in there, but it's to be expected in anything on TV these days so I can get past it to a large extent.
The refugee thing with Sam felt so contrived, but they somewhat redeemed that with the final restaurant scene which was a real feel-good moment.
And it's not even just about the politicization with the two gay subplots as it is that they're also just a waste of valuable time much better spent on more interesting and important plots. And that relates directly to what I feel like is developing as the biggest miss of this season and maybe the series:
They've really fast-forwarded the whole Nate heel turn and redemptive arc too much. There were a couple more scenes worth at least of character growth needed to make his arc believable to me. It's like it just jumped past either the defining moment or the more gradual build to realization.
I feel like Nate's arc is one of the two defining character arcs for the entire series. They've been much more gradual with Jamie, and his character development and the dynamic between him and Roy has been the highlight of season 3. But they've been ham-handed with Nate by comparison and by this show's standards.
I still trust that they'll resolve Nate's arc satisfactorily but the middle act with him Just wasn't convincing IMO, which discounts the impact of the arc. Unfortunate.

It varies but usually there are about 5-6 London teams in the EPL. This year there's 7.
The biggest clubs seat about 60k. Man United tops that at 75k. Most of them are 30-40k. The more marginal teams that might bounce between top flight and second division are 20-30k. The smallest stadium currently in epl is Bourne mouth at about 10k.
I think his backstory in sweet tooth is an ex football player. Definitely believable
