I agree. Not that I didn't like it by any means, just slower. I predicted the Jack/Keeley situation so I wasn't surprised there

I still find it odd that they've shown Nate be so vulnerable/remorseful so quickly. I feel like it's been a very quick transition from the hatred and smugness he possessed at the beginning of the season

Weakest episode of the season in my mind. At least we now have two side characters out of the way and plots and characters are setting up for the home stretch.
One of my least favorite episodes of the entire series, but yeah I assume it is a pivot point to set up the stories to be resolved the rest of the way.

I think Ted returning to form at the end saved it for me.

that was good to see. and i also really liked the way they handled Zava's departure from the team. with what we've seen of his character, i much prefer him just retiring out of the nowhere to leaving them for another team.

what i didn't like about the episode (and really the whole season) is the keeley PR firm. the new characters that have been brought into the fold have not brought anything to the series and it robs us of more keeley interacting with rebecca and the club.

Feels like they are setting up for a rematch with say the PL championship on the line, and Nate continues to grow disenchanted with his situation, and ends up throwing the match somehow strategically (doing something Ted and Roy see coming).

This is along the lines of what I was thinking. Nate throws it and comes back to Richmond when Ted leaves.

They made sure to show us the finger gesture to get on top 2-0 just before half the last episode. I'm guessing that will come back in the finale.

My guess is that Roy takes the gaffer when Ted leaves and Beard stays to help him.

Roy is an individual technique coach and not a tactician. That's what they're missing now without Nathan.

To put to American football terms, he's a OL coach not a coordinator.

Was a decent episode, not my favorite.

Roy's method for dealing with a bully was great

I'm glad Shandy is gone, Keeley's PR firm storyline hasn't really interested me much.

The models driving away listening to wake me up before you go go was definitely a Zoolander reference right? Haha

Good to see Ted take the reins at the end. Looking forward how they play moving forward

Henry's implication that he got bad advice from Dr. Jacob ("I should've listened to your advice all along") was nice too.

no doubt, but how messed up is it that dr. jacob is even still in the picture after the ending of the last episode?

i wasn't really pulling for a reconciliation or anything, but i thought michelle would at least end that relationship knowing how it made ted feel

So, have "Ted Lasso" fans earned a fourth season? It's the question on everyone's minds a White House staffer even made a joke about it when Goldstein and company visited. But no, not even the President of the United States has been told whether there will be another loop for "Lasso."

For the record, Goldstein would like the show to continue, and he has ideas. But he also respects that it's Jason Sudeikis' call. "I really do get that it's a hard decision. Because it's this wonderful thing, and these three seasons feel really perfect. Do you gamble? Do you leave the table? Or do you keep going because you have more?"

What Goldstein does object to is the idea that "Ted Lasso" should end before it turns to ***** "I'm like, 'No, it wouldn't get ***** Because it's a really good ****ing group of people who care about it. Jason's a ****ing genius. No way we'd make something ***** Because why would we suddenly be ***** Like, 'oh maybe it would go downhill.' Why? Have we suddenly all gotten **** at our jobs?"

I don't think Ted should be so judgmental over Michelle dating someone when he's bedding Sassy. The fact that it's their former counselor is messed up but if it was any other guy, Ted has no room to talk after being with other women as well.

Was interested in what others thought of this episode which is why I dipped in here.

The overreaction from everyone else was a good point, much better than my take.

My take: I'm starting to see Ted as a cu3k. I think his wife was smiling because she's relieved she got away with cu cking him.

At some point he has to have some fight in him, right? Dude is starting to look like a weak hokey cartoon. I think he needs a little on par reacting.

I don't agree. Ted looks stronger and more in control…more masculine…with every passing episode where he doesn't react to the crazy behavior of everyone around him.

Loved seeing Ted back in form with the closing speech. There is little doubt that this was the turning point for the teams season and thus the turning point for the shows season. There is no way Zava is out of the picture. Can't introduce a character that dynamic and then just let him disappear. Hope this isn't the last season but damn it feels like they are setting it up to be just that.

Any thoughts on which characters might make for a successful spin off?

Roy and Rebecca seem like strong contenders to go it alone. Some minor characters such as the Baz and the boys at the bar or Collin would be an interesting route.

1st of all, whatever you give the universe, the universe will put itself inside you. Hilarious

Now, I'm gonna be that guy. I hate the recent Keely development. The show should focus on Colin being gay, him coming out to the team and everyone being supportive. No one gives a sh-t. Keely, on the other hand, is not gay and is still in love with Roy. Roy is still in love with her. Now we have some contrived bullsh-t so that Roy, who obviously is regretting his decision during Ted's speech, is gonna go back to Keely and try to start it over, but she's conflicted about Jack.

Keeley's PR firm part of the show is doing nothing for me. I don't like her CFO. And who the hell doesn't know the name of the biggest investor in your own company???

I liked her and Rebecca's relationship and we've lost some of that since she's not around the clubhouse anymore.

I'm still not understanding the moodiness around Rebecca or what her storyline is. The psychic was right about a couple of things but wrong about her having a child…unless she adopts. But Ted is the only one in the show with a kid.

I wish we had more of Trent Crimm The Independent.

Overall, still loving this show.

I don't think she's in love with Roy at all. She said she's still hurt. I think she's curious and semi-interested in the changes Jamie has gone through.

Couple thoughts, I actually thought that was a very good episode.
However, that could be because I ended up just starting to skip through all the PR firm story line scenes. I like Keeley's character, but I just dont really care about that story.

Was that speech at the end the first time Ted has cursed on the show?

Not episode related, but I took my boys to London last weekend to see the Liverpool vs Arsenal match. We took an afternoon and visited Richmond. Highly recommend for anyone travelling that way. Super fun town and a great park across from Ted's apartment

It's a great spot to visit, just a quiet suburb of London that's pretty close to Wimbledon as well (in case you want to visit there too). I did a little write-up on my travel blog about visiting Richmond, the filming sites are very close together: https://andystravelblog.com/2021/11/24/i-visited-ted-lasso-filming-sites-in-london/

Ted fighting off his panic attack spoke volumes.

Character driven show is going off in so many directions that it seems to be losing focus.

I figure with both Nate and Keeley that they are going to realize their hearts are with Richmond, grass isn't greener, etc. and go back.

That would be very different than the themes of the show. No way they take steps back.

The Keeley/Jack thing is not for naught, they dropped it in to drive a storyline (I hope). It bothered me on first watch because it felt so contrived and unnecessary pandering for lack of a better word. My hope is this is going to force a decision for Keeley that promotes growth of character. My guess is that she will be forced to choose between Roy and keeping her funding (Jack).

I thought her choosing between Jamie and Roy would be plot enough as that has happened organically. I wish the firing of Shandy would have happened better, it made her look weak to be walked on that much, and she could have addressed the issue early on (company credit card for drinks was her first opportunity to coach Shandy on professionalism followed by 4 or 5 other chances). But she will be a better leader having suffered the embarrassment of it all.

Ted doesn't make better players, he makes better leaders. Although he hasn't done so specifically for Keeley, he has for Beard (prior to the show) Rebecca, Roy, Jamie, Macadoo, and eventually Nate IMO. That is the meaning of the show for me. Everyone had F'd up father figures or other barriers, but Ted shows them how it should be.

Or in her feelings about Jamie? The Bantr promos featuring the single players clearly alluded to her reconsidering Jamie as a changed man.
BowSowy

IMO, the Keely "feelings" for Jaime are just foreshadowing his change as a character.

My guess is that Keely's fling with Jack lives on for an episode or two, but we get a moment where their relationship causes harm to her relationship with Rebecca. We already saw that a bit when Rebecca called her after the gyno appointment and she missed it. I think she has a break up with Jack which causes her business to fall apart and she ends up with the old gang.
